Delta Beyond Oil: We’re Ready To Partner With Relevant Agencies —Obiago

AS key element in the realization of its “Delta Beyond Oil” initiative, the Delta State Government says it is prepared to partner with relevant agencies and organizations in driving the policy.
The Economic Adviser to the State Governor, Ogbueshi Afam Obiago who gave the assurance when the Assistant Director, Nigerian Export Promotion Council (NEPC), Mr. Falake Babatunde Olusegun paid him a courtesy visit in his office in Asaba, said that the administration of Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan in the state is committed to the economic transformation of the oil-rich state.
Obiago assured the NEPC boss and his team that, given the economic viability of the Delta Beyond Oil initiative of the present administration in the state, particularly in enhancing sustained economic growth and development, the state government was ready to extend its hands of fellowship to the council.
“I am pleased that this programme is happening here in Asaba, and let me assure you that the state government is willing to collaborate the Council since the idea is geared towards promoting ‘Delta Beyond Oil’ as well as to facilitate export in the state” Obiago said
Earlier, the NEPC boss had told the Economic Adviser that they were in his office to intimate him of the forth coming Management Retreat programme for Grade level 14 and above in its establishment scheduled to hold September 11 to 14, this year in Asaba.
According to Olusegun, the programme will feature international consultants who would deliberate on the essence of repackaging the council (NEPC) as well as discuss on how the state could key into its programmes.
While saying that the forum would afford the state government and Deltans the opportunity to exhibit the non-oil potentials in the state, the NEPC boss has solicited the state government assistance in ensuring the success of the four-day programme.
“The support from the state government towards this initiative will help the council in achieving its goals and objectives as well as make Delta a reference point in the country” Olusegun explained.
