Sporting Lisbon finished in second place in the Portuguese league last season and qualified for the Champions League automatically. They started their season brightly with two wins and four draws. The team news for Sporting Lisbon is that they will start this match without the services of defender Lopes who is out injured.

Meanwhile for Chelsea, they have played well from the start of the English Premiership and have managed five wins and a draw away against Champions Manchester City.

It should be noted that Chelsea averaged three goals per game and last weekend they beat Aston Villa by 3-0. Chelsea consolidated their position at the top as they have a three points lead over second place Southampton.

So to date their only match where Chelsea have not performed well was the draw against Schalke in their opening match of the Champions League at home. After that match it was business as usual as they beat Bolton 2-1 in the League Cup.

As for the Chelsea team news, Mourinho is expected to name a strong lineup here with only Remy could come into the side for Diego Costa who is likely to be exhausted.
