steffans: since morning my decoder hasnt come on..
it seems its about to scan but just goes off...
my kids keep staring at d black TV hoping cartoons will come up.. Lol

I confirmed same in 3 different houses.. the same problem..

who else is going thru d same..

...that might not really be the case. Maybe steffans should trynna adjust the knob at the back of the decoder when its turned on. What he should try is remove the cord and connect it to the next port. When it tries to pick signal from that port, remove it again and connect it to the original port. Make sure the knob of the cord is also tightly connected to the port. That's what I do and it works always. Hope that helps.

I am experincing it too. Just fed up. Tot it's my decoder initially. Pls, someone should talk to them.

It was a problem for me yesterday but it started working after 1 hour...also my decoder hangs when watching an interesting movie and takes time to recover,sometimes it will re-scan,am sure almost everyone is experiencing the same problems...oh well

The problem didn't just start now. Our DSTv in the office has been going through scan - trip off cycle for 3weeks now.
We didn't even bother to recharge again.
They have strong HACKERS they're dealing with now and they are trying to be systematic in effecting upgrade without shutting you all out at once..

I think say na only me. 1st there was an update for a soft ware upgrade, after upgrading i noticed the channels switched from 26 back to 22, then all of a sudden the decorder starts going off and rebooting on its own...last night was the height of it.

..............here is how I solved mine.
1. As soon as it reboots, and the parameters displayed, press the MENU button on your remote.
2. Scroll down to item 10 and press 'Reset to Factory Defaults'
3. Press OK to continue.
You are done.!!!

I think its got to do with the latest software update which I think is corrupt.

Dstv is a shitty decoder.ive been having this problem for over two weeks now, i went to complain in their office... Nd they were like "the satelites are undergoing upgrading, pls bear with us" i reasoned with them coz tz quite naturally for something serving u to nt b okay when undergoing upgrading. After some time, i became pissed off, like what the hell? I reported again.. A diffrnt staff tld me that the satelites dnt recieve well in rural areas, i was like.. I live in town.... The rest is history. Go for gotv or startimes.. Im using gotv rite now, and its perfect! Dnt knw bout startimes tho

Had the same experience earlier today, despite upgrading to the new software last week. Had to call a technician to fix it at about 2pm.

I can proudly tell you now that I am watching Arsenal's game.

Trulie: Didn't experience anything of such. Noticed a pop up message on d screen a week ago asking me to click OK for an upgrade of software, which I subsequently did. That may just b d reason why if u have not upgraded.

I upgraded mine and still face the same problem. The most annoying aspect is trying to call the service center to complain, only to be kept for more than 12 minutes at my expense; at the end nobody attended to my case.
