Nigeria's 10 Richest Pastors 2014 (exclusive List) by mrinfo(m): 8:54pm On Sep 30, 2014
Nairabrains, a fast-growing business & tech blog has released an updated list of 10 richest pastors after wholesome research. 3 years ago we published a well received list of Nigeria's 5 richest pastors and how they make their money.

This current list is an expanded one and you should see the preachers of the word in Nigeria who are worth millions of dollars and own the flashiest cars and in some case luxurious private jets.

The List.....

10. Lazarus Muoka
The Lord’s Chosen Charismatic Renewal Ministry

With a knack for commercial hustling which his contempoaries in the business world will find highly admirable this founder and head of the Lord’s Chosen Charismatic Renewal Ministry has over the past decade built a church of gigantic proportions in the country whose majority membership consist of the poor, struggling and ever hopeful masses.

Pastor Muoka’s church was the first to commercialise promotional materials such as the cheap apron like wears his members have come to be known for. Holding commercial crusades and rallies the Lord’s Chosen has become a mega church with countless vehicles, and increasing branches all over the country.

9. Wole Oladiyun
Christ Livingspring Apostolic Ministry

Pastor Wole Oladiyun is the founder of wave-making Christ Livingspring Apostolic Ministry popularly known as CLAM. While it is claimed he has businesses set up before going on ministerial training Pastor Wole owns a private school in Lagos, has extensive real estate investments, farm, an event centre among other investments.

8. Matthew Ashimolowo
Kingsway International Christian Centre KICC

Pastor Matthew is reported to have an annual salary of $200,000 at his Kingsway International Christian Centre. Today, his Kingsway International Christian Center is reportedly the largest Pentecostal church in the whole of the United Kingdom. His wealth comes from various business interests which includes a media company.

7. Chris Okotie
Household of God Church

While not having the massive followership and church membership of most of his contemporaries in this list Pastor Okotie has certainly carved a niche for himself in the upper class as his church in Lagos is mostly attended by the affluent and celebrity class. What he lacks in quantity he certainly got covered in quality.

A former pop musician he is an avid car collector having several flashy and exotic rides in his garage including a Rolls Royce Coupe 2014 edition worth N150 million. The former three time presidential aspirant is worth between $5 – $10 million dollars.

6. Mike Okonkwo
The Redeemed Evangelical Mission (TREM)

A former banker Mike Okonkwo left the business world to start off as a pastor for another church before deciding to set up the Redeemed Evangelical Mission. One of his several financial controversies include accepting donations from renowned advanced fee fraud guru Emmanuel Nwude.

He is one of the creme de la creme of the gospel who own a private jet. The church’s auditorium completed in 2011 was estimated to have gulped 2 billion sourced mostly from friends and worshippers in the ministry.

5. Ayodele Oritsejafor
Word of Life Bible Church

The man in the eyes of the news recently for all the wrong reasons is the Senior Pastor of Word of Life bible church. He is also the current President of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) and the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria.

Oritsejafor owns at least two private jets and recently got in the news when one of his jets was used in a suspected money laundering case involving 2 Nigerians and 1 Isreali with $9.3 million dollars on board. His ministry owns amongst other things a micro-finance bank.

Earlier this year he dedicated a 40,000 capacity church auditorium worth N500 million.

4. Temitope Joshua
Synagogue Church Of All Nations (SCOAN)

His church, the Synagogue Church Of All Nations (SCOAN) has become a sort of miracle Mecca to people from all over Africa coming to seek one thing or the other. He is one of Nigeria’s richest clergymen and made the top ten richest in the world as compiled by Forbes. His church has only one branch in Nigeria but currently has branches in Ghana, the UK, South Africa and Greece.

Most of his wealth is believed to have come through donations and his relationships with the high and mighty in several parts of Africa. He has entertained several heads of state in Africa at his Synagogue Church.

3. Enoch Adeboye
Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG)

The Pastor who owns a Gulfstream jet is also founder of the Redeemer University. His church the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) is arguably the largest in the country with branches in almost every neighbourhood in many states.

2. Chris Oyakhilome
Believers’ Loveworld Ministries (aka Christ Embassy)

Worth an estimated $30 – $50 million the stylish preacher was at the center of a $35 million money laundering last year during which he was accused of looting and laundering church money to foreign accounts.

His empire include media and publishing outfits like Loveworld TV and an ultra modern printing company in Lagos, a record label, hotels and extensive real estate.

1. David Oyedepo
Living Faith Ministries (aka Winners Chapel)

This wealthy pastor is always on top of the list of richest Nigerian pastors no matter how the compilation is made. We earlier estimated his networth to be around $150 million but we believe he should be worth more than that now.

Bishop Oyedepo has, since our last rich pastors list, slapped an alledged witch during a service in his church, and increased his networth by several million dollars. Owner of a Gulfstream V jet and at least 2 other private aircrafts he is also the chancellor of Covenant University. He owns the very expensive Kingdom Heritage schools with branches in several Nigerian cities.

Church members contributed heavily towards the establishment of these schools and more universities which are underway but very few are able to pay the exorbitant school fees required in the schools.

He owns Dominion Publishing, his media and publishing arm via which he has published over 70 books on various aspects of religion and success creation. With rumours of plans to establish an airline, numerous high value cars and more private jets than any other clergy in Nigeria Bishop Oyedepo David is the undisputed wealthiest pastor in the land.

I wish them well in the Ministry of the Gospel ...

Preach the word of God. Be prepared, whether the time is favorable or not. Patiently correct, rebuke, and encourage your people with good teaching.

Pastors ask for tithes in the name of God. They say “God needs your help building the church”. What does god need with a multi-million dollar church? Nothing. These are the same so-called church leaders that you willl find riding in fancy cars, eating the best foods, living in expensive homes and living the life of wealthy people while their followers scrape and struggle to do “God's will” by tithing. These so-called leaders will lead congregations in the worse of the worse neighborhoods and on their way to church to preach on Sundays or Saturdays or whatever day they declare to be the Sabbath, they will step over the homeless or the less fortunate.
