Hello all.

I am doing a survey to know whether most Landlords are having a hard time dealing with their tenants. I read an article which mentions that the Law of Lagos State favours tenants more than landlords. Is this true?

For example, when there is a rent increase, the tenant may disagree. Landlord may then attempt to chase the tenant out but the tenant tends to have upper hand,

Or for example, the tenant may simply decide not to pay anything and the Landlord can only take the case to court with no victory.

All contributions would be appreciated!

Well i don't live at Lagos anymore, but i believe there is always drama between landlords and tenants, and there aren't enough houses for people to live, some people live under bridges

omo_onile are you a land owner? grin
I dont stay in Lagos sha but I think it's true. In the state where I stay (ENUGU) you need see how this landlords are treating tenants. The cheapest house you can get as a two bedroom flat is about 150,000 a year and the rent increases randomly. A friend who just got a 3 bedroom flat paid for two years about 500,000.00 naira.
And
The landlords are treated as God. You dare not talk else you'll get your stuffs outside.
God deliver us from this heartless generation shocked

Since people are paid on a monthly basis, why is it that house rent have to be paid in advance usually a year or two years in advance?

Lets say you just finished university and start a job how do you get 2 year advance house rent
