Iv had asthma for as long as I can remember. I used to have frequent attacks as a kid. My mum was always there for me. Then came boarding school, it was tough those years. My inhaler was always with me round the clock.
I had a breakthrough moment one day when our then headboy spotted me using my inhaler. He approached and told me he was asthmatic too, which I never knew. He suggested that I should try as much as possible to be less dependant on inhalers. I listened to him and took up the challenge. I haven't had any attack for as long as I can remember. And funny enough I can spot the symptoms days before it hits me hard, I adjust my routine and lifestyle. and then source salbutamol tablets just in case I may need it. Havent bought an inhaler for as long as I can remember. Harmattan season is usually the trigger for me. God has been good. Im not advocating for anyone to subscribe to what Im doing. What is working for me , might not work for you.

Stay healthy people, asthma is tough but can be controlled.
Bless

I ve been asthmatic since I was 3yrs old.. Growing up wasn't easy at all.. Back then I use to have attacks almost everyday and most times I would have to attend skul with the attack especially during exams..

But I was mostly the cause of these attacks because I was quite stubborn and refused to do the needful.. I loved drinking cold water, playing football and even dancing unde rain. So na me dey take hand cause my problem.

I started with ventolin and franol, then I graduated to ventolin inhaler..

When I got into the university, I learnt how to take care of myself. Like wearing the right clothes for the right weather, avoiding cold water, dust, stuffy environments and exercising frquently and the frequency of the attacks reduced drastically

And since after graduation, I ve not used my inhaler.. And its been 3yrs now and counting..

Lol... Its Aminophylline
wesley80:

I think It's spelt amenothyline. I used same tablet when I had bad cases back in my secondary school days. However, a white specialist doctor in our company hospital (He also thought me to pronounce the name of the drug) advised me against taking the tablets and instead prescribed becotide inhalers, according to him, the effects of the amino drug where much too severe for minor attacks. I stopped using them and transited to becotide which I had to discontinue after some time Co's I had to take it daily. Hope your amenothyline is worth it.

Asthma and bronchitis are usually reversed, because most times people are confused about these two diseases. The main reason is these two cases are reversed because they are two conditions that include breathing and respiration of the patient. In both conditions, respiratory or bronchial tubes become very inflamed. Although many similarities, asthma and bronchitis are actually two different diseases.

Various causes

Bronchitis is often caused by an underlying infection, like a respiratory infection RTI already. Unfortunately, bronchitis can be a lifelong disorder. When this happens, then known as chronic bronchitis. Type of bronchitis is usually curable.

The cause of asthma, on the other hand, is not as clear as it should be. According to medical research because it is associated with the environment, such as smoking, either first hand or passive. Moreover, genetics plays an important role in the etiology of asthma. Unlike bronchitis curable, asthma is permanent and can not be cured. It can be treated but not cured.

Different symptoms

The symptoms of bronchitis are, namely, fatigue, chest pain, cough, fever, mucus production and wheezing.

The symptoms of asthma, on the other hand, excessive coughing, chest tightness, difficulty sleeping, shortness of breath, which is the medical term given the difficulties in breathing, and wheezing.

TREVO supplements or other supplements have no proven efficacy against asthma.. Please don't waste your time, money and hope on supplements that will fail u.. Before you try out anything also try and check up on the internet to substantiate what anyone tells you.. And you also need to get that kid back to the hospital.. See a specialist if possible she shouldn't be using close to that much..

Well, I have used Trevo before and I can certainly say that it noticeably improved my chronic condition when I was using it. The frequency of my attacks was reduced. and I felt much more active and energetic. it may not have cured it, but it helped manage it.

However, Trevo is quite expensive (abt 10-12k) lasting for only a month. So I'm thinking of trying out the moringa option.

I also had it at the age of 5, but thank God my parents were able to know what do triggers mine, cold, dust, fumes and also i dnt stay where things are been fried. Do have attack often but i do use Ventolin tablets and Inhaler but have to stop the inhaler because i do see it as a life giver.
Thank God have outgrown it but had a recent attack which my doctor told me stress triggered it. I still used ventolin tablet anything i have severe cough and chest pain in other to curb the attack as soon as possible.
I now sweep, stay under A/C, drink cold water and fries.
GLORY BE TO GOD!!!

As a researcher on how to live well i came across a breathing technique known as Buteyko method which was developed by a Russian doctor but very popular in Asia. With this method those who has being using it stopped using any form of drugs or inhaler but by learning this breathing method.

Trevor is over rated and if it has been healing asthma, the news would have gone viral. I wouldn't condemn Trevo as I know it's generally good for the body and could help your body supplement or lost nutrients and ensure well treats of the tissues and cells. This could help reduce the asthma because most people suffer due to poor management and food like yam, bread, cold weather, dust and perfume could trigger it. I don't like to see people sick. I have had relatives who suffer from this and my uncle is a doctor.

asthma is triggered by allergens therefore can be psychosomatic i.e linked with the mind and mood. anyone who believes he /she can be healed by herbal mixture, faith or exercise is on the right path however smoking aggreviates production of more allergens which increases frequency of the attacks. u were only relieved by ur faith so it's a bad move to suggest weed as a treatment

I was diagnosed years ago and I'm in my mid 30's now. I haven't had a major attack for over 2 years so it came as a surprise wen a month ago I started having severe attacks. I was about crossing into my last trimester. The doctor gave me several intravenous injections bt I only got worse.
He then queried my blood, result came out, I had senior and junior typhoid(high values) , malaria parasite, infections in the blood, low calcium, low blood volume coupled with d stress of pregnancy!!
I was surprised wen I saw the result cause I wasn't really sick as in bed ridden and running a temperature, I just felt fatigued and I attributed it to 3rd trimester o! I was placed on a cocktail of injections and drugs o, special care being taken cos of the baby. I was also given an inhaler, I've attached the pictures. It's been over 3 weeks now and I feel great! So for me the trigger was internal. I haven't had need of the inhaler for about a week now, but I carry it with me just to be safe.

This was exactly the first 'inhaler' I was given when I nearly died not knowing I was having an attack from Friday night to Monday morning when I couldn't even breathe. I beckoned on my younger brother to come with me in case I die driving as he was still learning. Got to the hospital and collapsed. The doc probably noticed how I was breathing in bursts and finished me with a cocktail of intravenous injection and for 4 days, I was hospitalized. During discharge, I was given that inhaler and some other drugs like ventolin, predisolone and others I couldn't recall.

My worry is that my attack came as a full adult...

I just grind 4-5 tablets of franol into a whole bottle of Coflin, then i use Ventolin inhaler mostly at night but not all the time. In my opinion, i think asthmatic patients should minimize the use of inhaler to the barest degree; it can become addictive. Just listen to your body and take precautions; don't wait till you have a crisis....

I just decided not to do my nightly ventolin for some days and to my greatest surprise, I slept well for almost 2 weeks which was very unusual so you are right. I plan to do more of listening to my body as I wasn't really keen on having any inhaler after I was done with the initial one I was given at the hospital some couple of years ago.
