This is part of the great Catholic Organisation that specialised in Quality Education!..... They are called Marist Brothers!.You must remember that in Anambra State, It is govt/Private partinership!.This policy alone have attracted quality education, Investors & educational practioners to the state making it the most educational endowed state in Nigeria!

I wish they will establish a Marist University.
Their trade mark of excellence is needed in the tertiary education area.

St. Charles College Onitsha, everywhere is looking good. Giving funds directly to the missions is the best way to go because they will manage the resources so well and achieve alot with it.

I'm happy for the different developments in my state and I am also in high spirit because my mum just came back from anambra state to Lagos after staying there for 3months. My mum did not want to come back home to us oooo!!!! shocked we had call and beg the woman to listen to the cries of her children that her recipe is missing in our stomach.

these are what she told me based on what i told her to research on before coming back to lagos:

1. She said that many anambraians are rushing home to build and that the place we are staying in awka is already filled with houses bought and built by some rich guys in Obodo-Igbo. she said I should advice anyone who wants to buy land to rush and buy now that these men dont have joy with the large expanse of land they are buying. To be sincere, I need to start saving before i will start renting 3bedroom flat in my fatherland now. maka ihe neme kita dikwa serious.

2. She said the major reason why she didnt want to come to lagos is the peace and serenity of the environment, unlike the busy and dusty environment she will expose herself to in lagos. she buttressed her point with the fact that there is enough electric power and close access to our indigenous food with indigenous hand making it. the air is free from CO2.

3. She said that the environment where we stay in awka is undergoing renovation and our village have tarred basically because the village links to another major road. in all, she said that many people are coming back home especially in the north for their safety, so they are trying to build and do businesses in the east.

4. she said she went for a thanksgiving mass in a village close to ekwulobia (cant remember now). the place is funny sha. they were giving bags of rice to the priest. she asked the people there why rice? or they did not hear that the price of rice in the market is over 10thousand naira. they told her that they plant rice in their farms and its easier to get rice than the normal cocoyam in the village. My mum was shocked that things were happening and she didnt know that things have really changed in the east.

5. i told her that we only get oil from the riverine areas of the state. she looked at me and said that my cousin's wife father is collecting indigene money in Nri village for the oil been explored in that region. I am not too sure about this info but i think she might be right.

I, as an anambraian in face and in attitude hereby tell everyone that I am proud of my state. I am also warning other anambraians out there to please be quick in your decision-making to build and invest home because our brothers who left the north will end up renting an apartment for you when u get home.

thanks and God bless.

Our people should leave the north and never return there.
What has baffled me much is that many of them don't even have good businesses, so why go to the north to do manual labour?
You can very well do it, work on a rice farm or ride keke in our own land. Why must you go so far as the north to sell vegetables?

Our Governors and town planning people should build those little bridges over those streams in order to open up new layouts. It is shocking when you see a tiny stream separating a virgin territory from an over congested place. Just because nobody wants to sacrifice any penny of his for the general good, by building the culvert over the stream for public use.

Yes, my brother. my friend said he is designing a website with the name "destinationeast". He will use the website to advertise to different people who have been lost that things are happening in the east and they shouldnt be the last people to get the good news and complain of lack of information when they'll be forced to rent two-bed room flat in their state of origin.

Can we beg the state government to only borrow if he wants to build factory estate! our indigenous rich men will be pushed to invest home and this will make factories have a particular location unlike people buying lands in different parts of the state and building factories. we want the state to be well-arranged because if what we are chasing eventually comes to light, we will not need to start breaking factories and houses built on planned areas. people need to enlightened that some places will be marked for the development programme of the state.

Anambra state is coming up gradually and we will keep on trying to let other people know that they can still be in their 'obu' and make billions. the gibberish that you must be in lagos to make your billions must end now. if we dont bring money home, money cannot walk home.

investment strategies should discussed.

Yes, Igbos are very very stubborn and the least strategic group in Nigeria. The Igboman does not learn from things around him, until he personally experience the bitter experience. Then he is twice cautious.
Igbos are very hardworking, and therefore have no time to consider politics or intrigues. They base every decision on business, which is indeed childishly tragic. What sense does it make to build a multi-million dollar groundnut process industry in kano simply because it will cost less to transport the raw materials to the factory, then you lose the entire factory to arson by an irate group of almajiris demonstrating against the cartooning of Prophet Mohammed in Denmark? Although not every advise is wise, but the continuous investment in all those parts of Nigeria by our people has become an unfortunate stupidity on their part. Our people think if they take your advice, it is a mark of their our stupidity.

Sometimes, it takes tragic things like Boko haram to get the average Igboman to reason clearly. That is why i stopped grieving when they suffer those huge losses elsewhere in Nigeria because they require such tragic experience in order to reason properly.

Our people are better off investing in Senegal or Liberia than investing in hostile northern or western Nigeria.

I heard there will be a carnival for the igbos from 28th/30th of december. I am very sad that I will not be in the east then to attend the programme. it is very painful. this is an opportunity for every igbo to come and discuss what they want the region to be like in the next few years. it shouldnt just be funfare and plays. issues relating the unity of our people should be discuss. economic route should be discussed. we shouldnt be known for just existing. igbos have not done something as a united people since decades ago. we need to come together and make things happen.

It is only as a united people, we can achieve mind blowing results.

This is how to reason and read well so you can respond responsibly: A brief review of the sequence of discussions
that culminated in the handover of schools
and which are verifiable will expose these liars
of Government House, Awka. Governor Chris
Ngige’s Commissioner for Education, Prof.
Leonard Muoghalu was directed by him to
liaise with the religious organizations on the
handover of some mission schools back to
their rightful owners to help arrest the
indiscipline in schools and reverse the falling
standard of education. See letter dated 6th
January 2004 and titled Hand Back of Schools
to Voluntary Agencies which was signed by
the then Commissioner for Education.
Many meetings were held at the
Commissioner for Education’s Office between
February 2004 and September 2005. These
meetings were attended by:
1. His Grace Most Revd. Maxwell Anikwenwa
– Arch. Bishop of Province II Anglican
Communion & Bishop of Awka.
2. His Grace Most Revd. Dr. Valerian Okeke –
Arch. Bishop of Onitsha Arch. Diocese ably
represented by Very Revd. Fr.. Anosike –
Vicar Gen. of Onitsha Arch. Diocese.
3. His Lordship Most Revd. Dr. Simon A.
Okafor – Catholic Bishop of Awka
4. His Lordship Most Revd. Ken Sandy Okeke
– Bishop on The Niger .
5. His Lordship Most Revd. Dr. Hillary Okeke
– Catholic Bishop of Nnewi who attended the
first meeting and appointed Msgr. Orakwe &
Msgr. Adigwe to represent him in subsequent
meetings.
6. National and State officers of NUT
7. The Permanent Secretary and some
Directors of the Ministry of Education were
also in attendance.
After many meetings, it was agreed that the
schools be handed over and it was so
announced by the Government of Dr. Chris
Ngige to the people of Anambra State and
publicized in the mass media. A formal hand
over ceremony was performed by His
Excellency the then Governor of \Anambra
State Dr. Chris Nwabueze Ngige OON (Onwa)
on Thursday the 15th September, 2005. The
handover elicited a negative reaction from a
few misguided members of the NUT who
demonstrated at the State Secretariat against
the handover but were informed by
government that the handover was in the
interest of Anambra State and therefore final
and irreversible.
A memorandum of understanding was drawn
up and signed by accredited representatives
of The Anglican Church, The Catholic church,
The Nigerian Union of Teachers, other stake
holders and the government of Anambra State
then under the able charge of Dr. Chris
Nwabueze Ngige OON (Onwa) as the
Executive Governor.
If all these events were witnessed by the
citizenry and the Government of Mr. Peter Obi
wants the public to believe the opposite then
something is wrong with his administration.
Anambrarians are asking why repudiate the
good works performed by a man who risked
his own life to liberate his people from the
shackles of financial servitude. We all know
that Gov. Peter Obi is suffering from
NGIGEPHOBIA a disease that makes him not
only blind to anything good from Dr. Chris
Ngige’s Administration but also to appropriate
the good works which he cannot repudiate.

I am tired to be frank with you. I spend most of my time writing letters upon letters seeking the attention of these men to the benefits of investing in the region. some of these men think i am a fraudster sef. these men should understand that the eastern region is a strategic location for business and pleasure. a region close to almost all geopolitical zones with at most 2hours to the different zones. the east is the only zone that can make their product felt in all the regions at thesame time unlike lagos where the best will be picked from lagos, next ogun, oyo, and crumbs other parts of the country. the east can give you the same quality at the same time and the same rate.

invest home and let visitors feel your hot air.

Sometimes it is sooooooooo hard to find new areas in Igbo cities EXCEPT Enugu and to a small extent Owerri.Where Independence Layout Phase II and Egbeada ares have been opened.

If Pope had never visited Onitsha in 1982, there would be nothing like Awada because that area will also not be opened.
Our Governors just want Onitsha, Aba to remain in the same exact spot they have been since 1900. No real effort to open up new areas around those cities. Lack of opening up Onitsha is what is making Asaba grow and same for Aba vs. PH.

That is the truth. The way people hear Ariaria, they will think its another Walmart of Africa but the truth is, those places are not that beautiful and eye-catching. I am not in any way insulting or making our people look bad but we need to do more work than remain as a local champion.

There is nothing wrong in building a world class market like we have dubai or china. this will help them market their products to far ends of the earth.

As much as we need to link Onitsha to Anamcity but I believe that the city of Onitsha is fast expanding beyond Trans-Nkisi and FGC. Below is part of area after Trans-Nkisi which was posted here by Frankie. And they aree actually doing decent low density structures just like the GRA and 3-3 by those rich people in the society

what we want is a drive. a very strong drive that will push other people to think that its the only way to leave the present level our states are in at the moment.

Investing home needs alot of work from our part. we need to be strategic in all our dealings.

But remember 33 isn't Anam city project. So dodging the question with pics. does not answer it.

One problem we have is inability to speak the truth without gloating on something else which is totally unrelated.

We are talking about the bridge connecting GRA Onitsha to Anam city here. NOT 33 or Nkwelle area!

Now, you don't need to repost those pictures as if i haven't seen them nor that i don't know the area i am talking about.

The city the size of Onitsha should be expanding rapidly almost the rate at which Abuja, Lagos or PH is expanding. That is what we are talking about here.

Look at Enugu (No disrespect meant), in the last 5 years, it has new Emene area, ninth mile area, Independence layout phase II, new trans-ekulo (Elim estates) etc. and you are posting remodelled Rojenny stadium that has existed for more than 30 years?

Onitsha is expanding in rapid speed!.........Odekpe ,Akwaukwu,Oba,Umuoji,Ogidi,Umunya,Nteje,Nwelle,Nzugbe are experiencing massive investments in Housing & Industries!. Just look at the area of Rojeny Oba below!

this is what he is trying to say:

the government should give the direction of expansion and not the individuals expand themselves. if individuals expand themselves they will expand to unfavourable environment which in time cause problems for their businesses and housing. the government should always monitor the growth of its business district and see when the expansion is ripe and he should direct the expansion by building infrastructures close to the chosen areas of expansion. this is government monitoring what is happening in his state. sometimes, we find out that businesses that is supposed to be in anambra state is taken to other states because the merchants feel that the competition is high and needs more breathing space.

this is where the government have to come in and give the merchant an opportunity to breathe within his own territory.
