If your car is still in as it left the factory condition (i.e. not one of the salvaged specimens from East Coast) then when you pull the carpeting back (including the insulation) you can do further inspection.

Alternatively, you can get under the car (safety first) and look.

. D car is not a salvage vehicle ( I ran an autocheck on it) b4 importation, although ; it is an accidented vehicle (minor accidents though) n d autoicheck score was high!!! So it is very fit, however; I think d best option will be taking it to d mechanic to look under; n I'll also suggest to them; what u just wrote her too, tnnx 1ce again....

Still need more responses pls!!!

Not making mockery I actually have a truckload of suggestions for you but I was dissapointed when I saw what you intend to do with cityngs solutions (check bolded)

Sorry no pun intended.

A 2003 Toyota should not be allowing moisture inside of the car.

Not all accidents are reported to car verification services.

Your car either has more damage than you are aware of or it wasn't fixed properly.

If it's missing a simple plastic hole cover then I question the integrity of the repair in its entirety.

You'll be amazed as to what people do to cars being shipped to Nigeria.

1; check the windscreen is not leaking

2; check the side under the dashboard to see if any thread like bonnet cable is not letting water through

u can do those by allowing one person to run water over your windscreen while u are looking under the dash board

then u can go on to check the drain cover under the car

Personally i sure num 1 and 2 is the culprit here

Amazing.

So water will travel from the windscreen straight to the back passenger floor and completely bypassing the front floors?

I believe it's either a missing drain plug or the floor has corroded so you have a couple holes in the back.

Next time it rains, open that rear door afterwards and pull the rubber fitting underneath the door, if water comes out, there is your culprit

Best solution, sit @ the back of the car when it rains, watch out for leaks from the inside. Hopefully, you will find the leak point.
If the leak point is not found from the inside, you will have to ramp the vehicle and look from below.

I would say your leak is via your rear door rubber, or the pastic membrane behind the door card is torn, or missing.

Take your door trim / panel off, and you will likely find the membrane is ripped, and there's water in the bottom of the door.

right when i say windscreen i mean the rubber and the adhevisve that hold the screen especially on the lower end might be letting water in

through the engine wall, then onto the floor to the back

2; u have bonnet cable that usually runs from the engine to the dash door; these might be letting in water as well

therefore u can still go back and lift the carpet under the dash along the throttle pedals to some extent ; then let the second person run water on ur screen before u give it all clear Sir!

u need to lift the carpet and look deeply well; put your head completely under the dash and check the sides of the engine wall near your tires from inside

check both drivers and passengers side

like i said it might turn out to be the culprit

those water drop does accumulate on your carpet over night

go back and try again Sir!

Like said if there is a hole under the carpet it will get wet when you enter pot holes full of water, but if it is through the door you can either try to find out if it happens when driving in the rain or when parked in the rain .

Open the back door of the passenger side and have someone pour 3 buckets of water on the outside glass, if water goes through the door and shows up on inside trim the Sienna theory is right. Then you should sit in the car close the door and have someone pour 3 buckets of water from outside around the door edge check if water gets into the car or just do these things when its raining find wettest spot and trace it back to the source.

The shock GAZZUZZ expressed was the same thing that came to mind when I read OP's post.
That mentality that when you buy a car you are a big man some thing are now below you is the reason most cars get destroyed.
2 things happen to most new owners when they have their first car problem; either they are too ignorant to try and figure out what they are dealing with or just don't want to get their hands and cloths dirty.

If we all go thru all the the forum, how many of these owner sound like they know how to check the oil/fluid levels when to check them and what they should look like. Some even sound like they can't change their flat tires even know how to check tire pressure.

It about time people start using their heads instead of wallet to figure out minor issues.

OP don't take it personal its just a trend for users to run to the nearest roadside mech.

if I may ask do you have a sun roof?
For toyota, there are these drain pipes that run water down from the sun roof...most times they could be blocked by dirt and lock in moisture into your car.
