kettykin: Please does anyone have any idea on why Gowon, danjuma, obasanjo, babangida, South West government representatives, South West governors, political aspirants, buhari. Could not çome to give their uncivil war hero his last respect.

Unlike ojukwu burial where Jonathan with his presidency, ministers, governors in the east and niger delta, foreign ex presidents representatives of foreign governments etc came and gave him his last respect.

Who really was celebrated in life and death the rebel or the so called hero who shot at any thing that lives because of oil but was not allowed a drop of oil money until he begged his former enemies and died of penury.
some people here are just so . . . . . !

Why would one compare Adekunle and Ojukwu?

One was a leader in the civil war while the other was just a fighter in the war.

One was just a soldier in the nigerian army with no regional responsibility, the other a regional leader.

Ojukwu even went as far as contesting the presidential election while Adekunle never contested in any political election.

Tell us which other civil war soldier was given any befitting burial!

War are fought and reconciliation are made. Obj fought Biafra, he was professional about it. He never exhibited extra ordinary hatred for d people, infact he escorted his son to ebonyi last year to marry a wife.

Gowon declared war on biafra, he was diplomatic about d war, at d end he declared no Victor no vanquished, even though he did not reconstruct biafra, we forgave him cos he acted not on hatred.

These two men frequent igboland and are welcomed.

Ode.kunle used Biafra war to show the world d hhatred he has for igbos. No red cross, no caritas, no Pope, I want to kill the igbos not biafrans. I will shoot at anything that moves when we enter the igbo heartland. He was specific about igbos. Not biafran army . A tribslist in army uniform.

He got rewarded in due time and died a pauper. Rot in hell ode.kunle

The igbos u hated are matching on.

Are you sure TribalEast is not a road side vulcanizer since he preferred being a first class political citizen instead of first class economic citizen
He has no choice anyway.

TribalEAST: he wasn't invited. Have you put into consideration the fact that adekunle, in his last words, could have ordered his family not to allow any corrupt politician near his burial? Only fashola was qualified enough
Lol. You sef know say na lie. What "last words"? Abeg we all know his family needs all the help they can get now so a whole lot of prominent people were invited but only a few deemed it important enough to attend. Fashola na correct guy even if he wasn't invited he still would have attended.

Yet this bargaining power did not eradicate poverty in your region.
no wonder no nigerian will vote for an ibo president. He'll simply enrich his people alone.

TribalEAST: if ojukwu was celebrated, how come his people chose to vote for OBJ instead of him. Ibos only celebrate him when other tribes are mocking him, but deep down they know he's a coward and will never again support him when it matters grin

General Adekunle was a great warrior. If there is still an Adekunle today in the Nigerian Army, Boko Haram will not last for one week..

True talk, I can write a full page of people that were supposed to attend this burial if the man was indeed a hero.
He wasn't even a regional hero. His claim to fame was murdering helpless women and children and he paid for that by suffering in pain, penury and abandonment for 40 years.

that's to show you the extent of the crime he committed during the Biafran-Nigeria war. I won't pray for him to rot in hell but he and Adolf Hitler would be judged by God side by side when the time comes.

Agreed he was a warrior. Was he actually a hero? I think the Nigeria he thought he served didn't welcome the way he went about prosecuting the war. That may explain why most leaders distanced themselves from him. Adekunle should be a lesson to all of us. The people you strive to please may not approve of your method after all.
