I just want to salute Nairaland for standing up against Boko Haram's propaganda machinery and using this platform to support Nigeria's war on terror. Nairaland has stopped promoting Boko Haram's propaganda news and videos in favour of other stories that give Nigerians hope and confidence against Boko Haram. Nairaland has taken this patriotic posture in spite of the negative effect this may have on its traffic. Other Nigerian online media outlets are shamelessly helping Boko Haram to share and post pictures or videos of beheadings and other useless speeches by their worthless leader. The day all Nigerians decide to impose a total media blackout on Boko Haram,that day we would have won the war half way. 'Media blackout' does not mean we no longer report insurgency news from the NorthEast; but it does mean that when news of say a fallen Nigerian soldier emerges we quickly honor that soldier's memory and sell stories about his bravery. NOT showing the world videos of how our enemy beheaded him-helping the terrorists discourage other 'would be' Nigerian heroes. Once again,kudos to Nairaland 16 Likes 9 Shares |

Thanks too. We shall overcome this terror war and come out stronger. May the Lord continue to protect and give our Armed Forces victory. To the injured, I pray for quick recovery and for those that have paid the supreme price, eternal rest grant unto them, may perpetual light shine on them and may they RIP. God Bless Nigeria. |
