Well I'm a psychologist. From that picture, there are a lot of clues.

1. Pillow on the ground, bed rumpled, sheet like wrapper covering the woman's lower part I.e waist down. The scene is an after sex or sleep scene and like you said the man was not around cos he was on vacation.

2. Most importantly and the master clue key: who took the picture especially if they don't have anyone staying with them and the man didn't since he was not around.

Those are some clues.
