SPARTA, NJ - Christopher Onwuasoanya recently returned from another trip to Nigeria. His work installing solar energy systems on residential homes sent him back to western African at a time when there is an increasing fear of that area of the world. The fear of Ebola, a deadly virus that has been in the headlines, did not deter Onwuasoanya from returning to continue his work for his company Atlantic Waste & Power System, Inc.

The World Health Organization may declare Nigeria Ebola Free as soon as Oct 12 with no new cases having been reported for 42 days or double the incubation period; the standard used by global health authorities. The last reported contact was on September 5, the 21-day follow up as been completed and no new cases have been reported.

“This country could learn a lesson about how to handle things from Nigeria,” said Onwuasoanya. The protocol was simple but thorough. “Everywhere you go they take your temperature. If you want to go to a business, they take your temperature before you can enter. If you want to go to a restaurant, they take your temperature before they let you in. In the airport you have to fill out a questionnaire and they take your temperature.
