There are loads of softwares it depends on the type of animation is it 2d or 3d ,if its 3d go for maya or 3dsmax ,3dmax is easier to learn but maya has more features but 3dsmax is expandable to meet mayas standards using plugins,for graphic design go for photosgop ,for video editing go for adobe premiere pro.

You can try adobe after effects. It's what video editors use.
