Mikel Obi Condemns Awful Sudan Pitch. by sureteeboy(m): 10:14pm On Oct 12, 2014
Super Eagles midfielder John Obi Mikel has described Saturday’s
outing in Khartoum as a nightmare as Nigeria failed to get
anything right despite the energy and effort put in.
Mikel who has come under the hammer in recent times for
supposed pedestal performances for the national team stated that it
was wrong for people to say the Eagles don’t deserve to be at next
year’s Nations Cup in Morocco.
“Why I can’t still believe how and why we lost that game it’s
important to move ahead and for those saying we don’t deserve to
be in Morocco, I think that is unfortunate and we must stop
spreading that negativity because it gets to the team. The pitch we
played in was awful. You can’t move, the ball bounces when you
want to control it and when you shoot it goes the wrong direction,
it was a nightmare playing on that pitch”, he said.
Mikel and his
colleagues will hope
they will get their acts right on Wednesday as they on Sudan
again at the Abuja National Stadium.
