LoL....the beautiful thing about envy is that no matter how much you try to conceal it, like a flower in the spring, it will reveal it's self.

If Ugbade really felt so about Kelechi, you can imagine how his boss (who is now blaming the foreign guys for de-stabilizing his team) felt, he even took time to take a jab at Kelechi with the first team talk, such immaturity is disgraceful from a man old enough to father Nacho....it's obvious why we lost now.

You can never be a winner when you breed envy and pride within you. So, because the boy was making waves for City, they decided to literally stab his shine.

Iheanacho should be grateful to God, na so God dey expose pesin enemies. May we never encounter any Ugbade or Manu in our journey to success
i believe by now u should hide ur face in shame when ur lover and his crew could not even qualify us to the quater final.

Nigerian Oil Tycoon, Ifeanyi Ubah Gingers U-23 National Team With N2 Million

The Managing Director/CEO of Capital Oil, Chief Ifeanyi Ubah has charged the U-23 National Team, Dream Team, to beat their Congolese counterparts in the first leg of their African U-23 Championship qualifying fixture and get a two million naira reward.
Addressing the players and their officials after a 3-2 victory over Amakson Academy in a friendly game in Abuja 3-2, the oil magnate said he is making the cash donation as his little contribution in ensuring that the team is well motivated by Nigerians to make the nation proud come Sunday, July 19 in Port Harcourt.
"You guys should know that you carry the aspiration and dreams of over 170 million Nigerians and as such you must put it at the back of your mind to go all out against the Congolese so that the return leg will be a mere formality. Nigerians will not take any excuse from you."
Assuring the team of more financial windfall if they scale the Congo hurdle, Chief Ubah, who watched the game, said the boys should realize that if they do well and qualify for the 2016 Olympic Games, their career will become brighter as they will not only get good contracts overseas, they will also graduate to play for the Super Eagles.
Meanwhile, the Dream Team will on Saturdaytackle 36 Lions F.C of Lagos in its last friendly game in Abuja before departing for Port Harcourt on Sunday. The encounter, which will come up at the mainbowl of the National Stadium, Abuja, will kick off at 4pm.

Akinjide Idowu: The Nigerian Human Shield under the watchful eyes of Celtic and Udinese

Akinjide Idowu is definitely not the most popular from the present crop of the Nigeria U20’s, but the young lad has been tipped for great things. The 18-year old defensive midfielder is seen as a future leader in the Super Eagles, and most European clubs agree as they have been circling him for quite a while.
Quick Facts:
Name: Akinjide Idowu

Age: 18
Position: Defensive Midfield

Club: Nigeria Youth Soccer Academy

Akinjide Idowu is yet to play for a professional club, but has featured for Nigeria at the U17 and U20 levels. He was the anchor man in midfield as Nigeria won the 2013 FIFA U17 World Cup in the United Arab Emirates, and also played a key role as Nigeria got to the second round of the 2015 FIFA U20 World Cup.
He is seen to possess the marking ability which the Nigerian national teams have lacked in recent years.
Key Strengths

Nigeria U20 coach, Manu Garba once said Akinjide Idowu can‘mark the devil out of a game’. That, of course, may have been a figurative expression, but it is a testament of Idowu’s marking ability. Though not the tallest at 1.71m, Idowu also boasts the ability to win possession easily in the air. He has often been referred to as the‘human shield’by teammates, and can also play in a variety of positions.
He has sometimes filled in at right-back and central defense, which shows he is not a ‘one trade’ man.
Stats

Idowu has featured in over 50 games for both the Nigeria U17 and U20 teams respectively. He played all 6 matches for the Nigeria U17 as they finished second at the 2013 CAF U17 championship in Morocco. Though not a prolific goalscorer, but Idowu had his fair share of goals, during the qualifying campaign for the U17 championship, scoring two goals.
Interested Clubs

Idowu has tested with Norwegian club, Sogndal, and almost signed with Czech club, Sparta Prague just before the 2015 Africa Youth Championship. It remains unclear the club he will sign with eventually, but Italian club, Udinese and Scottish champions, Celtic are monitoring the 18-year old. The midfielder has also reportedly held talks with Spanish club, Almeria.
“I’m very happy with I’m doing at the moment but I know I still have to keep improving. I need toimprove in my ball distribution and passes but I know I have made significant progress. When I sign with a club, I will improve in these areas and will become the player I know I can be. I will be one of the best midfielders around, I’m sure of that,” he told sl10.ng in April 2015.

Idowu under the watchful eyes of these clubs is not enough. If type are not ready to invite him for trials then his agent should get serious and hunt for a club for him in Europe like those in Belgium or Norway. The young man is a bright player and will be an asset to any club that sign him.

Please, anyone who is watching the dream team train, should please use his phone or mobile device and shoot a short clip of Godwin Saviour in training. So we can access him closely. Thanks in advice. Just shoot the clip and upload it on YouTube.

The 18-year-old Musa has signed a three-year contract with the ambitious Turkish Super League club and Adam Mohammed, who midwifed the transfer, said he believes the fullback is now headed for bigger things.

Musa Mohammed off to Holland with new club
The owner of FC Hearts of Abuja also disclosed that it was not such a difficult decision to opt for the Istanbul outfit despite a number of interests from some top European clubs like Hamburg and Rosenborg.
“The club genuinely want the player, they scouted him long before the U20 World Cup and will give him his chance in the first team. You cannot ask for more,” he said.
“They have built a brand-new stadium and in the new season, they will feature in the Europa League.
“They have many big plans and Musa is part of these plans.”

Yes. The boys are rising. By the next U20 WC in 2 yrs time they would have become full professionals and then i can finally place a favorites tag on them. Not this last one that they were academy players and people believed they could be champions.

Imagine how matured and experienced the following next U20 prospects would b in 2yrs time: Akinjide Idowu, Musa Mohammed, Musa Yahaya, Taiwo Awoniyi, Chidera Ezeh, Kelechi Nwakali, Chidiebere Nwakali, Bobby Adekanye, Bob Osime, Ibrahim Mustapha, Ifeanyi Matthew, Dele Alampasu, Habib Makanjuola etc. If they as expected improve with experience from the professional level, this is a team that can blow the world away.

Flying Eagles Netminder Dele Alampasu Bundled Out Of Dream Team Camp By Samson Siasia

Allnigeriasoccer.com has been informed that new Estoril glovesman Dele Alampasu has been dismissed from the Dream Team VI camp by coach Samson Siasia ahead of the African Under 23 Championship qualifier against Congo.
The Flying Eagles goalie was invited to beef up the team after the Fifa Under 20s alongside the likes of Taiwo Awoniyi and Godwin Saviour.
Despite beating last week’s Friday deadline, Samson Siasia made it crystal clear to Dele Alampasu that he’s surplus to requirements, with the goalkeeper failing to train with his teammates the following day before he was decamped.
By all indications, the relationship between the netminder and the coach is from cordial, with Siasia flaring up when questioned about his pupil.
An angry Samson Siasia told
allnigeriasocecr.com briefly : “I don’t have anything to tell you about Alampasu.”
Dele Alampasu was third choice goalkeeper at the African Youth Championship and did not suit up at the Fifa Under 20s before the Flying Eagles exited the tournament.

Ebikagboro Dismisses Alampasu’s Decamp Report.
by: Tunde Liadi

• Says goalkeeper travelled with Siasia’s permission
The Media Officer of the U23 national team, Timi Ebikagboro has dismissed report on a website which depicted that the head coach of the team, Samson Siasia has decamped goalkeeper Dele Alampasu.
Ebikagboro who referred to the report as a comical noted that Alampasu left the camp of the team immediately after he arrived last Friday to beat the deadline stipulated by Siasia with the blessing of the coach after he and Musa Mohammed told him they would like to sort out their future in the new clubs.
Mohammed the captain of the Flying Eagles’ side to New Zealand 2015 U20 World Cup reportedly signed for Istanbul Basaksehir FK of Turkey while Alampasu has also been said to have signed the dotted line with Estorii of Portugal.
Ebikagboro told Nation Sport that both players met with Siasia and told him of their mission to travel abroad to sort their transfer issues and that the Dream Team VI handler permitted them to make the trip but with a firm warning that they must return on time if they are to make the team for African U23 Championship qualifier against Congo.
“I will call the report a comic because the report was far from the situation on ground. Alampasu and Mohammed both approached Siasia after they reported to camp last Friday that they wished to travel to finalise their transfer deals and the coach obliged them.
“He however told them that they must return to camp on time if they are to be available for pick against Congo,” Ebikagboro told Nation Sport.
The two players alongside, Taiwo Awoniyi, Godwin Saviour, Kelechi Iheanacho among others were invited to beef up the U23 team ahead of the clash with Congo on July 19 in Port Harcourt.

Rio de Janeiro 2016 Olympics: Torch design unveiled in Brazil
By Andrew George

The torch for the Rio de Janeiro 2016 Olympics has been unveiled at a ceremony in Brazil.
Brazilian president Dilma Rousseff, showed off the design saying: "We are now 399 days from the opening of the Olympic Games and on August 5 the whole world will look at us, will see the Olympic flame lit up."
The torch was designed by local Brazilian company Chelles & Hayashi and starts out as a simple silver cylinder.
As the Olympic flame is passed from one torchbearer to the next, the torch expands to reveal coloured segments that represent "the Brazilian flavours of harmonious diversity, contagious energy and exuberant nature, with the soil, the sea, the mountains, the sky and the sun".
Each torch is crafted from recycled aluminium and resin with a satin finish and weighs between 1 kilogram and 1.5 kilograms and stands 63.5 centimetres high when contracted and 69 centimetres when expanded.
The flame will be lit at the traditional ceremony in Olympia, Greece in May before beginning a 100-day relay around the host country.
It will be one of the most low-key Olympic torch relays in recent times with no international legs.
The Brazilian route will begin in the capital Brasilia and finish at the main stadium in Rio de Janeiro on August 5, marking the beginning of the 31st Summer Olympic Games.
Ms Rousseff promised security would be a priority, inviting the thousands of fans who travelled to Brazil for the football World Cup to return for the Rio Games.
Preparations for the Olympics have been described as the "worst ever" and Brazil's labour ministry last month stopped construction work at two venues amid health and safety concerns.
The golf course, equestrian venue and the velodrome are all behind schedule.
Members of the International Olympic Committee have also expressed major concerns about pollution in the waters of the Guanabara Bay, where the sailing and windsurfing events will be held.
"We are confident that we can meet the challenge before us," Ms Rousseff said.
Rio de Janeiro will be the first South American city to host the Olympics.

Olympic Qualifier: 35-man Dream Team Arrives Port Harcourt for match With Congo
By NAN

A 35-man contingent of the National U-23 football team will arrive Port Harcourt on July 6, ahead of their Olympic qualifying match against Congo on July 19.
Mr Timi Ebikaboro, Media Officer of the team, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on phone from Abuja on Friday that the contingent include 25 players and 10 officials.
He however said that some of the players have been allowed to play for their clubs in the GLO Nigeria Premier league this weekend.
‘’ For now, the information at our disposal is that we are leaving for Port Harcourt on Monday, July 6th.
‘’ We will arrive with 25 players and 10 back room staff. We cannot say for now who will arrive on Monday because some of the players will play for their clubs this weekend,’’ he said.
Ebikaboro said the team had prepared very well for the match with Congo which would be its fifth competitive game.
‘’ Basically by our records, we have always prepared well for all our matches. This will be our fifth competitive game. We are working round the clock to ensure that we do things the right way and get things done properly,’’ he said.
According to the media officer, the mood among players is that of apprehension because nobody knows who will make the final 18-man team for the match.
“That tells a lot about the capacity in the team, because we are working round the clock to see that we pick a good side to do the country proud, to win well and make sure that the return leg in Cong is a mere formality,” he said.

Siasia Denies Dropping Alampasu

–U-23s goalkeeper's exit from camp explained
By Sab Osuji:
Nigeria U-23s Eagles coach, Samson Siasia, has denied claims he has dropped goalkeeper Dele Alampasu from the team's Serob Legacy Hotel camp, Abuja, where they are preparing for the Rio 2016 Olympic Games soccer qualifier against Congo.
Siasia, who spoke through the media officer of the team, Timi Ibikagboro, stressed that there was no truth in the report that the former Golden Eaglets and Flying Eagles shot-stopper has been shown the exit door at the Olympic team's camp.
"Alampasu's case was like that of Musa Mohammed who came to camp and informed coach Siasia that he had to travel out to sign a contract with a club outside the country, a request Siasia granted him," Ebikagboro told completesportsnigeria.com.
"Similarly, when Alampasu came and demanded for permission to go and sort out some issues, coach Siasia did not object but allowed him.
"I don't see how that translates to dropping the goalkeeper. The import of the whole thing is that if they happen to come back well on time to meet the first leg match against Congo, fine.
"But if not, there is still the return leg match to be played. Siasia has not dropped any player, especially Dele Alampasu or any other one for that matter."

He is presently in Paris, France warming up for the new season but will return to La Masia latest Sunday for the start of pre-season training ahead of Barcelona's trip to the United States to participate in the International Champions Cup.

Certainly, one player that will not be returning to Barcelona next season is the talented winger Bobby Adekanye, who completed his move to Liverpool on Wednesday.

Olympic Qualifier Dream Team to train in Port Harcourt for one week

The Nigeria National U-23 men’s football team, the Dream Team VI will have at least one week of training in Port Harcourt, ahead of their CAF U23 championship qualifier against Congo.
The team is currently camped and training in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital, but will travel to Port Harcourt to train for at least a week, in order to ‘get used to the city and Stadium’.
“They will travel and train in Port Harcourt at least for one week before the game,” General Secretary of the Nigeria Football Federation, Sanusi Mohamed told News24.
“We want them to get used to the city and the Stadium ahead of the game because it is a very important game for us.
“They have been training in Abuja and it will be wise for them to acclimatise themselves with the match venue well ahead of time so it doesn’t seem strange to them,” Sanusi said.
Coach of the team, Samson Siasia had earlier asked for his team to have some time in Port Harcourt before the game, so as to help them get used to the Stadium.
The team that triumphs over two legs will qualify for the second CAF U-23 championship, holding in Senegal and which serves as qualifiers for the Olympic Games.
Recall that the maiden edition was held in 2011 in Morocco, but Nigeria failed to make it to the London 2012 Olympic Games.
Former international, Austin Eguavoen was in charge of that team.

Fiji thrash Micronesia 38-0 in Olympic qualifier
The result proved a landmark in the competition and meant the latter have shipped 68 goals in their last two matches
By Russell Greaves

Fijibroke the record for the biggest victory at the Pacific Games with a 38-0 win over the Federated States of Micronesiaon Sunday, going 21-0 up by the break before adding another 17 later.
Atonio Tuivuna cashed in at the weekend with 10 goals at a tournament that provides the possibility of qualification for the Rio 2016 Olympics for his country, though Micronesia are ineligible as they are not affiliated to the International Olympic Committee.
The Oceania Football Confederation tournament has been a tough one for the latter, with their Group A hopes already over after going down 30-0 to Tahiti two days earlier.
The landslide result set a new highest score at the competition, but will not be officially recognised as a record by Fifa as Micronesia are not ranked by the governing body.
Australia therefore retain the honour for the biggest victory in a Fifa-recognised international football match, having beaten American Samoa 31-0 in a qualifier for the 2002 World Cup.

The Flying Eagles forward gave Samson Siasia’s team a first-half lead with a spectacular overhead kick.
He then scored two more goals after the interval in a game he played on both wings as well as top striker.
Dream Team VI won 4-1 as they step up preparations for a crucial 2016 Olympics qualifier at home against Congo later this month.
Saviour scored twice and provided an assist as Nigeria reached the knockout stage of the recent FIFA U20 World Cup in New Zealand.
The exciting 18-year-old forward is under the radar of several Belgian clubs including champions Gent and Genk.

Alampasu has a Contract with Estoril - agent

England-based players' agent Olusola Orelaja has declared that his player Dele Alampasu is not clubless as he has signed a contract with Portuguese club Estoril.
"It is ridiculous to say Dele Alampasu is clubless. My client is not clubless as he signed the dotted line for Estoril Priar FC Portugal 24 hours into the January transfer window 2015,” said Orelaja.
“Alampasu did not cook up the story of his signature as Estoril reported it on their website, photographic evidences, newspaper, Internet and social media testified.
“My feeling is some people are just looking for excuses, may be they were surprised Samson Siasia invites Alampasu ahead of the qualifying game against Congo.”
He further said: "I truly believe we Nigerians should put the interest of the nation first because judging from Alampasu outstanding performance at the U17 World Cup 2013 as the Best Goalkeeper (Golden Gloves) in the world, he deserved to be encouraged.
“Alampasu was invited by FIFA as dignitaries to witness the annual Fifa Ballon d'Or to demonstrate his effort.
“In my opinion, I reckon he deserves to be the first-choice at the just concluded U20 World Cup in New Zealand as a progression from U17, he has the experience, confidence and a better player in goal.
“Furthermore we can recall that after the U17 World Cup, Alampasu was the only player that Stephen Keshi included when he released 23-man squad to African Nations Championship (CHAN) 2014 South Africa.”
“My phone has never stopped ringing with calls from clubs who want to sign him. He has been to Genk (Belgium), Real Oviedo(Spain), Sporting Braga(Portugal) before we settled for Estoril," said Orelaja, who disclosed that Alampasu is the first African goalkeeper to sign for a professional club in Europe at 18.

The former Super Eagles manager urged the dropped players to continue working hard in their respective clubs.
“For those who did not make the cut, you do not have to be discouraged but to work even harder to keep yourselves among the pool of players that could be called up for future assignments as the team prepare for the return leg and the All Africa Games in Congo,” supersport.com quoted Siasia as saying on the Nigeria Football Federation official website.

is obanor still the captain of the u-23?

Siasia explains why he dropped
Iheanacho and Alampasu

The U23 coach is trying to instill
discipline in his side by sticking to
deadlines for players to report to
camp, failing which they would not be
eligible to participate in his team.
Nigeria U23 coach Samson Siasia has
disclosed that the inability of
Manchester City midfielder Kelechi
Iheanacho and U20 goalkeeper Dele
Alampasu to meet up with the camp
deadline given to invited players for
the team’s all-important 2016
Olympics qualifying match against
Congo led to their being dropped.
The coach insisted that discipline must
be maintained if the team is to
achieve the successes craved for.
He also disclosed that the affected
players are still very much part of the
team and would be invited after the
match against Congo in Port Harcourt.
“I don’t think we need Kelechi
Iheanacho in that disposition now. As
soon as we qualify we will invite him
to the team. It’s the people you know
that can play to your instructions that
are here now,” Siasia said.
“It will be too difficult for him to come
in now and fit in into that pattern.
When we qualify he is going to be a
part of us. There is no way you can
rule out a talented player like Kelechi,
no you cannot rule him out of this
team. It’s just that he can’t fit in if he
comes now to join the team.
“Kelechi had the chance to make this
team but did not show up. When they
had the break from their clubs, some
players like Kehinde Olanrewaju who
plays in Israel came all the way to join
this team; Musa Yahaya who also
plays in England like Kelechi came to
show his face. I have also seen and
spoken with others too but Kelechi
did not show up. But he is still a part
of this team anyway.
“As regards the case of goalkeeper
Dele Alampasu, he was dropped from
the team because we had a deadline
given to all players to report to camp
and he did not meet up and that was
it. Taiwo Awoniyi like Alampasu asked
for permission and I told him if he
fails to report on Friday the deadline,
he won’t make the team. The guy
dropped whatever he was doing and
reported but Alampasu did not.
“So why would only [Alampasu] fail to
meet the deadline? He said he was
doing his International Passport but I
expected him to report to camp first
and then when the passport is ready I
would have permitted him to go and
pick it up. I have told the players that
if you want to be a part of this team
you have to be disciplined. That is all,”
Siasia concluded.
The Nigeria U23 squad will face the
Congolese U23 side on Wednesday,
July 15 in the first leg game in Port
Harcourt.

Thats great. I think its high time we begin to instil discipline in these guys so early so that when they grow up, they don't grow biggar than their Coaches, the national teams and the Country.

Musa Muhammed begs Siasia, returns to Dream Team
by: Segun Ogunjimi

The Chief Coach of the Dream Team VI Samson Siasia has disclosed that former Flying Eagles Captain Musa Muhammed, who unceremoniously left the team for trials in Germany, has come back to apologise and has returned to the U- 23 national team.
Muhammed, who recently signed for a Turkish club Istanbul Basaksehir FK, has made the list of players that will do battle against Congo in Port Harcourt for the ticket of the 2016 Olympic qualifying tournament.
Siasia said he forgave Muhammed based on his resolve to humble himself and ask for forgiveness
“God Almighty forgives so who am I not to do so? Musa Mohammed believed he was wrong the way he left the team when he was invited and came back to apologise. He said ‘coach, forgive me, I got carried away.’ I now, told him, come back.
“Musa is a useful player from the national U-17 to U-20. We have invited him before even if he had not played for us. So he is back and everybody is happy. It is one big family.
“He is part of this team and he came to tell me that he was going to sign for a club in Turkey. I said that was nice, go and come back to join the team. He actually beat the deadline, so he is part of us.
The player’s manager Adam Abah Muhammed also told Sporting Life in Abuja at the weekend that he and the player came to see the coach and everything was resolved.

Siasia sure of Rio 2016 Olympic place

FROM ROMANUS UGWU, ABUJA
Head Coach of the U-23 team, Samson Siasia, has told Nigerians to go to sleep over the qualification of the team for the Rio 2016 Olympic Games, reassuring that he has crop of good players to pick the ticket.
Speaking ahead of the crucial qualifiers against Congo scheduled for Port Harcourt, the U-23 team coach told journalists after his boys’ victory over 36 Lions FC in a friendly match at the weekend that the arrival of the Flying Eagles strengthens the team.
He, however, stressed that the players’ inability to convert begging chances had been his major challenges, noting that though the team did not have the opportunity of playing international friendly matches, it had engaged certain teams at the local level to test run the team.
Reassuring that his boys will beat Congo in Port Harcourt, the World Cup coach, as friends and well wishers fondly call him, revealed that he had acquired the tapes of their past games, adding that the technical crew was currently studying and analyzing the tapes to guide them in the match.
His words: “We do not have the luxury of having international friendly matches. What we are doing right now is to see how these boys will come together and blend for the task ahead.
“You can see from all indications that they are working very hard. We are still not there in terms of converting our chances. We create a lot of chances, but we find it very hard to convert them.
“We still have about two weeks to train together before we make our final selection for Congo, so we still have enough players to select for the game. Our target for now is to win this game to take us close to the Olympics football ticket and I have seen commitment in the players. “They are there with their whole heart and I know they will make Nigerians proud when we play against Congo in Port Harcourt. We have just acquired the videos of Congo and we are carefully watching them to guide us. We are not afraid of Congo and I am sure the boys will not disappoint us,” he promised.

There is no way Nacho can join the camp. The pressure to make a strong impact in the preseason of Man City is huge. The preseason preparation is in full swing and this is the wrong time for Nacho to take a trip away from the Etihad Campus.

Wishing the Dream Team Success.

Hero's Welcome for Flying Eagles Captain in Turkey

Nigeria's Musa Mohammed has said he is overwhelmed by the special welcome party staged by the fans of his new Turkish club Istanbul Basaksehir FK.

Thousands of fans decked in the club's bright orange colours and chanting songs staged a special party to welcome the Flying Eagles skipper into their club.

Musa, who was solid in his first full training with his new club, later signed hundreds of autographs and joined in the energetic song and dance.

He was later carried shoulder high by the partisan supporters. "I just could not believe how the fans welcomed me, they made me feel really wanted. It was incredible, I have never experienced anything like this in my life," the defender told AfricanFootball.com

"The fans love their football, in short they are crazy about football, and they always want their club to win.

"I want them to keep giving me and the rest of the team such support, which can only make us to do more for the club." The right fullback will join the rest of the squad in Holland on Tuesday for pre-season training.

Musa has signed a three-year contract with the Turkish Super League club, who will feature in the UEFA Europa League in the coming season.
