You're the one mixing it up. You are the one confusing good for great. Perhaps it's just because your standards are ridiculously low.

Ibrahimovic is a great player, he is also a legend. Thierry Henry was a great player...he is also a legend. Suarez is a great player...he is not a legend YET. See the difference?

Griezman is good...not great. Stop throwing it around anyhow.

Greizman is just not a good player. He is a player his club and country depends on. France and Athletico are no small fries.
You have to be more than just good to be the go-to-guy when it gets tough at the level he operates, at both club and country.

What an irony that am the one confusing great and legend.. Lol lol y

Athletico depends on Griezman? now that is absurd to say the least. you can argue that of the Les Blues but not this one at all

Probably I don't watch enough football these days,, but for clarity, who does Athletico depend on for most of their goals?

they depend on nobody in particular. In most big games, Godin scores the goals with headers. Godin has more goals against Barca and Real Madrid than Griezman. Torres last season was at some stage their go-to-guy. They depend more on their defence so saying that they depend on an attacker when they are a defensive team is false. Fact, most of their goals are scored from corner kicks and freekicks and most times it is not Griezman

While a like for like comparison is foolishness, I believe you can compare their overall play and see who has had more impact. Buffon and Obafemi Martins do not play in the same position, but it's visible to the blind that Buffon has made a greater impact on the game.

Therefore for a man to say Iniesta, who led Spain to dominate Europe and the World, and was a very pivot engine of the all-conquering Barcelona team, is inferior to Zlatan is travesty. I can't continue that kind of ridiculous discussion.

If Iniesta led Spain and Barcelona, what was Xavi? Iniesta's follower?

Another reason to justify a potential Ibrahimovic win is the undoubted excitement factor that he provides for fans and pundits alike.

His recent goals against SC Bastia and RSC Anderlecht drew superlative praise from all over the football world, while his sensational bicycle-kick volley for Sweden against England last year was voted one of the best goals in the history of football.

This is what sets Ibrahimovic apart from most of the top players. Despite performing consistently on a high level, he has this X-factor of capping his performances with goals impossible to score.

When we hail Ronaldo De Lima, Romario, Raul, Not too convinced of Del Piero who went to France 98, started all games for Italy and could not score once, they do not have that X-factor of scoring brilliant goals consistently.

As I said, from Ajax, Ibra scored one of the greatest goals in the history of the game. He followed it with brilliant strikes.

It is unfortunate that Ibra's agent never settled him and it was all about record transfers. When it comes to quality and consistency, Ibra is as good as the best names in the history of the game.

What cannot be debated, though, is that the talk of Ibrahimovic being a potential Ballon d’Or winner is thoroughly deserved, even if he does not triumph.

With all of this talk about individual success, the Swede’s individual achievements over the past year can arguably only be rivaled by Ribery.

While the world-class qualities of Messi and Ronaldo cannot be debated, Ibrahimovic has arguably bettered himself more than either of the La Liga-based stars over the past 12 months.

Godin is one of the best center backs around now, yes he scores the odd goal from set pieces. Yes, Athletico have leaders running through each spine of their team. But to write off or deny Griezman as the main threat after scoring 40+ goals is a very bad argument. Torres and Godin goals put together isn't up to half of Griezman's 40+ goals.

For the records, Godin has scored 11 goals since 2010 when he joined Athletico.

Even though I rate Aguero higher than Greizmann, we can not deny his brilliance. 44 goals in about 70 games says it all.

No denying Greizmann had a blast last season. I am interested in seeing if he can replicate something close to what he did last season.

Players like Aguero and Zlatan, performed well consistently for a long time.

Certainly he will even be better this season judging by his career projectory till date.

This guy have never had anything handed to him on a plate. He never went to any of the posh French soccer academies in Clare mont foot or Caen.
He was even rejected trials severally by Lyon because of his slight physic and height.

He had to take a chance and leave his village team for Sociedad then at the French 2nd division where he helped them gain promotion.
Since then, season after season he has always got better and better.
Am a huge fan. He is till only 25 for the records.
A legend in the making

Alas the Leicester City board is growing some balls.

Interesting.

Leicester City have sacked Claude Puel as their manager after Saturday’s 4-1 home defeat by Crystal Palace and want to appoint Celtic’s Brendan Rodgers as his successor.

Wilfried Zaha’s Palace double puts Leicester’s Claude Puel in trouble

The club are expected to make an immediate attempt to lure Rodgers but are prepared to wait until the summer for the former Liverpool manager. It is questionable whether Rodgers would be willing to leave Celtic mid-season when he has the chance to win an unprecedented third treble in three seasons there.

Leicester could also consider Newcastle’s Rafael Benítez, whose contract expires in June, but they have made Rodgers their top target after some months of succession planning.

Brendan Rodgers is definitely one of my best coaches in the game. Certainly in my top three. I hope Leicester City lands him and he favors our lads there. It seems we will have interesting times ahead of Leicester City.

And if he excelled in Bournemouth this season?

One thing I have learned in life is not judge anyone by their current situation. Everyone would always experience some forms of speed bump in life.

TheGoodJoe:
Imagine Obiora Nwankwo that Coach Keshi dropped at the AFCON, resurfacing in Oliseh's squad. A player playing in the lower league of Portugal.

The same boy Siasia used to bench Ibrahim Rabiu at the U20 World Cup. When Siasia gave Rabiu a chance, Rabiu scored and Siasia punished him for scoring by benching him immediately after the goal.

Oliseh is jonsing.
