Maybe it is because it came with two fan but no heat so far compare to when I was using gtx660m, 760m and 460 Nvidia laptops... Ryse is graphics demanding but I so much love the game. That's solid...sounds like its well built...heat dissipation is always an issue but looks like they've nailed it on the M4800.

OpenCL isn't that bad on AMD cards though..Does the 3D animation software you use support both OpenCL and CUDA?

Most of the software support CUDA , i dont know why they hate amd that much, infact i havent seen any advance software that support AMD opencl

There's support for OpenCL, however some require GPUs from AMDs FirePro series to unlock certain features within the software. I know Maya, Solidworks(which i use) support OpenCL. I've usedSony Vegas Pro/AdobePremiere CC and that supports OpenCL. What software do you use?

belive me when i tell you that i use all the software you mention above and practically they dont support the openCL but literally they do
because when using AMD your ram suffers most compare to when using Nvidia CUDA ( your GPU suffer it which is reasonable and understandable)
i notice this whenever i am redering a 3d project in cinema4d and after effect
RAM Usage 90% ( out of 16GB )
CPU Usage 10-15 % ( it fluctuate but not more than 15% )
GPU Usage ( 0% )

compare to when i was using NVIDIA Series ( core i5 )
RAM USAGE 79% ( out of 8gb ram )
CPU Usage ( 40 - 70% )
GPU ( 50% upward )

and alot of people complain about that online too

also i used to game on amd....i must say the colors on my amd was a bit better than my gtx 780. I used a gtx 280 before moving to a 7770 hd den a 7850 hd now a gtx 780.my verdict would be most games give me problems on amd and i have to use patches and other ways but the nvidia works most often out of the box.. .crimson drivers however, saw a serious improvement to the 7850....saw my framerates increase from 30 to mid 50s in battlefield 4 on 900p (framerates are important to me)

What type of 2 Don animation are you talking about text or character animation? I do animation

And about amd only rely on Microsoft for updates and thats not the case on Nvidia
And I don't know why you have to go extra mile for amd... With Nvidia it is plug and play.. But it worth the stress my brother

( i do text animation though both in 2d and 3d ) but just once in a while whenever i want to do 2d animation, i hire graphics designer to help me with the designs and drawing ( adobe illustrator design because your drawings must be in vector format if you want to animate it ) ..

trust me you wouldnt want to be the one to be drawing and at the same time be the one to be animating ..it will work for small project but it will never work out for big project REASon is because your animating skill is going to suffer for it

but to just know the basic drawing please illustrator is your best bet ( at least that is what i use )
