Fatalveli:

For example.
Action:
NAME.................STORY
1.D9ty7---All In A Circle
2.Kayemjay--- The Complete assasin
3.Royver----The Day The World Ended.
4.Handie----17 Awosika
5.Kingzpen---On The Run
6.Temitope Daniels--The Unknown
7.Larrysun-The Paradox of An Abel
8.Sammyhoe-Honeymoon In Prison.
Thriller
9.Kingzpen--On the Run
10.Kayemjay- The Complete Assassin
11.Temitopedaniels- Pemisire
12.Handie---17 the Awosika
13.D9ty7- All In A Circle
14.Frank317-Reincarnation
15.SammyHoe-We Are Able
16.Larrysun- The Paradox of An Abel.

Let assume I want to vote.
I will not say
Thriller- Larrysun-The Paradox of An Abel
Action-D9TY7- all in a circle.

Instead I will just type
1 and 16
This system is just to help us quickly know what the person has chosen instead of making them repeat names.
And those that do not remember the numbers can then chose to write the names out.

Please,
Texanomaly,
Aisha800,
Fatalveli,
Kingphilips

We will be posting the votes here..
But instead of writing their names, we will be posting their numbers...
Why?
1. So as not to make the winner know their position till the day we are to announce it..
2. So as to prevent prying eyes to quickly know the winner...

E.g
Number Votes
1...... 5
2...6
e.t.c

I suggest another round of voting on the two ONLY.(Best encourager and Fantasy)
More publicity is needed.

THINGS TO LOOK AT IN CASE OF NEXT YEAR
You guys should please take my criticism in good faith. I noticed some things about this award which ought not to be.
- When I first came accross this award stuff. I hoped it will be better than last year's edition but what I envisaged is not what actually happened.
1. Publicity: Kudos to Divepen on this, but I think every judge should have done a thing or two about publicizing the event. I can bet it with you that less than two hundred nairalanders knew about this award.
The publicity could have taken a step higher assuming you contacted the mods and they sticky the thread.
Everything about this award all boil down to publicity because I was suprised when I saw that two people are tied on the same number of vote.
I thought they both had about twenty votes, but was suprised when I saw eight votes each.
- Lat year's edition was a lot more organised. One person is responsible for the announcement of each results. All he needs to do is be in close contact with other judges.
I was suprised to see delays in the announcements and statistical
release.
-You compounded everything when you decided to use numbers. Am not sure
they used numbers last year. A new nairalander like me have no idea of the story titled '43' which has seven votes.
From my own knowledge, I will not accept this award or anything
because it doesn't speak for itself. Mynd had no idea about the even,
neither does Obinnau.
Even some writers had no idea, no publicity, no publicity and no
publicity.
I don't mean to discourage you guys but its the thruth.
2. Another thing is that, you guys rushed things. We all knew the
nomination was not promising, then you went ahead to open the voting thread which was a lot worse. Haven't you checked out the Miss Nairaland contest thread? Within a few hours, its already on Page forty with over ten thousaand views. We can make the literature awards like that too,
only if we pay attention to details.
Get the mods, get the writers, the writers gets their readers and
fans. Sit back and watch it grow.
I know next year can be a lot more better, only if we make things work for us.
Sorry about this long post and only a senseless person will quote it in full, because it is the begining of madness.
NB: I may be wrong with the things I said but remember, it is democracy.
I don't mean to riducule the organisers or anything. Remember it is democracy.
I don't mean to seek or gain attention. Remember it is democracy.
Peace be unto y'all.

Thanx alot...
Emzypaz, as I said when I started this year's award that one of the writers invited me to organise it since he would not be around to do it. And That he has contacted the mod.
I was surprise also that the mods did not make it sticky but I agree I'm at fault for not asking if that was their plan.
2. Last year's nomination was for 3 days and the voting was a day. People were involved last year because the writers invited and were zealous about winning something so they invited their fans...
But this year the writers are seeing as nothing, maybe because last year their stories made front page frequently and they hoped it would make fp again.. But this year, I couldn't promise them one...

3. For the number, I thought it would help them vote easily. Infact most of the people that voted were new members who joined Nl around July-October - I checked their Profiles.
I thought if people read the instructions well, it would help them to vote well and that they would not have the problem of tying long list of names.
