3 out of 4 young Christians abandon Christianity!

The statistics are alarming: over 70%, that is almost 3 out of every 4, young Christians walk away from their faith when they are in the first years of college! These are young adults who were born and raised in Christian families. They went to church with their parents and likely attended church classes and youth groups. Perhaps they even went to Christian schools or were home schooled. Still, by the time they get to ‘live on their own’, which in most cases is when they go to college; they walk away from their faith, likely to never return again.

2030: The Year Atheists Overtake Christians… in Britain.
The study conducted by the British Parliament showed there were 41 million Christians in Britain, down nearly 8 percent since 2004. Meanwhile, the number of nonbelievers stood at 13.4 million, up 49 percent over the same period.

“If these populations continue to shrink and grow by the same number of people each year,” the study said, “the number of people with no religion will overtake the number of Christians in Great Britain in 20 years.”

The latter article was written in the year 2010, four years ago. The percentage rate of decrease in Christianity in Britain upon which she once stood might have increased rather than remain stagnant. The Netherlands which was once considered a Christian nation in the 60's and early 70's today has about 50% of its population claiming to be atheists, the remaining 50, of which there are more practicing Muslims than Christians.
Turkey which has a very strong foundation of Christianity, where about 3 of the churches Jesus sent letters to in the book of Revelation and where apostle Paul stayed mostly, now has a Christian population of 0.2% from 98%!
But these alarming statistics are not restricted to the yonder lands. Here in Nigeria, the number of disciples of Jesus is decreasing rapidly. We only have 'Christians' and not Disciples. For some reason, Christian youths of today are conforming to worldliness and secret sin. By worldliness, I mean loving earthly goodies to the extent of forgoing eternal life. Let me show you a simple realistic mathematics:
A =(1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6). Assuming 'A' is a Christian couple brought up in the faith and the numbers represent Christian values. If A give birth to children called 'B' and fail to raise them up in a very godly manner, then it will be:
B = (1, 2, 3, 4, 5).
Also, if B fail to raise the children, 'C' up in a godly manner it will be:
C = (1, 2, 3, 4).
If C does the same for 'D' then:
D = (1, 2, 3).
Again, if D does same for 'E', then:
E = (1, 2).
Again, if E does same for 'F', then:
F = (1).
After that 'F', who has very little Christian faith will do same for 'G', then:
G = (null set), an atheist...
This is a practical example of what is happening in Nigeria and the world in general today. Parents don't watch their children's fate. They are more interested in academics and 'satisfaction' for their children than securing eternal life. It cannot be denied that to many 'Christians' today, the statement, 'eternal life' is somewhat a mystery which they only know its literal meaning without its importance. NO MATTER WHAT, WE WILL STILL DIE AND LEAVE THIS WORLD and all goodies in it. Most 'Christians' of today forget that without completeness, they cannot enter the kingdom of Heaven; without wholeness like
A = (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6)
we cannot make Heaven. In the next 20yrs, Christianity will be something of a mystery bereft of true doctrines in many countries.
If we don't save our children from the enemy, we are bound to lose them, which we will be held responsible for. We have to change our ways. The world is in the state it was before Jesus saved it--we sin despite knowing it is evil--only this time we'll be guilty because Jesus died for us.
BY NATURE, THE TRUTH IS
1) INTOLERANT
2) DOES NOT HAVE TO BE LIKED
3) DOES NOT HAVE TO BE THE MAJORITY OPINION.
But we need to repent and change our ways. I'll round off this article with one Bible quote:
Matthew 24:22-- But God has already reduced the number of days; had He not done so, nobody would survive. For the sake of His chosen people, however, God will reduce the days.
