Due to the urban and built up nature of Lagos, most of the Lagos rail lines are elevated. The Lagos lines are almost like a 27km long flyover. That's not the case for the Abuja project which goes mainly on uninhabited dry lands.

This should explain the cost difference.
Well someone here said that of lagos has both highways, overpass and underpass and so I believe that maybe the reason. its good seeing these of development in the country and I look forward to the years we start constructing multi lanes(not all these double lanes) and then interchanges(maybe multi decked interchanges grin)

I love this thread...... I'm doing a course on city development and we got to study a lot of examples of modern cities in the west that were built from the scratch and are still being built. I have to write a paper on a city, it's development strategies, analyse it n all and i remembered, there's something like this going on in Lagos,Nigeria why not read about it and find out more,so i started reading a lot about eko atlantic and it's an amazing project. I'm really impressed at how far they have gone, the strategies employed and all. I can't wait for it to be completed.
So i'm using eko atlantic as my study case,i hope i write a good paper smiley

I wish you all the best dear
