Dolphins forward, Emem Eduok says he is eager to break Jude Aneke's record of 20 goals in the Nigerian League. Aneke set the record four seasons ago while playing for Kaduna United. Eduok who has scored 19 goals this season told .com that he wants to improve on that record at the end of the season. "I want to do all I can to make sure that apart from equaling that Aneke's record, I will set my own record. "He scored 20 goals and with three games to go, I have scored 19. So I have all the advantage to break the record. "There are three games to go and there is every possibility that Aneke's record will be a thing of the past. "I am ready to score two more goals to make it 21. I am also aware that players like Mfon Udoh, Osaguona Ighodaro and Gbolahan Salami have also scored good goals, so what I will do is to keep scoring until after the last game. "I was so happy after the game against Nembe City where I scored six goals. I have never scored a hattrick in my playing career and for me to score double hattrick in a single game gives me a lot of joy. "My focus is to score goals and help my team get a continental ticket. I am training hard and I know that all will be well at the end of the season," Emem boasted. Former Heartland striker, Ishaya Jatau set the first record in 1990 when he scored 17 goals. Super Eagles Ahmed Musa broke that record six seasons ago while playing for Kano Pillars with 18 goals, before Jude Aneke improved on that record with 20 goals. 1 Like |
