Nigeria's electorate by numbers. Isn't it interesting how charts help accentuate trends, correlations and cluster behaviors? Interesting pop-ups:

1. Combined South East + South South registered voters make up 24% of total voters which is less than the 26% for North West alone.

2. Combined North West + South West voters make up 45% of total registered voters, greater than combined South South + South East + North Central voters which add up to 40% of voters.

I'm still trying to figure where the key battleground states are.

Nigeria Presidential election is not won just by d number of pple who vote for u, the number of state u win also count. If candidate A have the highest number of total vote cast and candidate B win in 2/3 of the 36 states + FCT, candidate B wins the election.

Very flawed, how can North be more than South...Surely there are millions of under-aged registered voters or the goats and cows there have been registered to vote.

I can say with 100% certainty that Kano, Kaduna and Katsina registered voters have been grossly overstated cos I've been to those states. The cities are empty only to be full when election results are announced. So do the people staying there live underground?

The same goat and Cow massively voted for OBJ in 99 while his kinsman in the South West didn't vote for him.
Guess it didn't matter then but matters now? Huh?

South east ➕ south south ➕ 1/2south west ➕ 1/2north central ➕ 1/4north west = 49%(victory for PDP.)......The leftover (51%) will be shared among other political parties.

It is statistics like these that make APC feel dat d SEners have little efect in the equation of d presidential election. They always forget dat atleast 30% of dat SW figure are Igbos.Atleast 30% of d SS population are Igbos. U need to know d population of Igbos in NC particularly Abuja and Jos. For NW nobody needs to tell u abt d high presence of Igbos particularly Kano and Kaduna. For NE BH activities have driven a large number of Igbos away, however dey are still in areas like Bauchi and Adamawa.

The election results will swing in d favour of who ever d Igbos throw their support for.If Buhari wants to b president he needs to seek how to win over d Igbos.

the problem u have is that u don't know how votes are calculated. the total number of votes u have means nothing if you u don't win in more states than your opponent. another thing is that a place like northern Nigeria even animals are registered voters

GEJ just needs 25 states to return for a second term. They will be very easy to get.
SS - 6 States confirmed (All)
SE - 5 States confirmed (All)
SW - 4 States at least (Ondo, Ekiti, Lagos & Oyo)
MB - 5 States sure (Plataeu, Kwara, Niger, Kogi & Benue)
NE - 3 States (Borno, Bauchi & Adamawa)
NW - 1 State (Kaduna)
Plus FCT - 1
I am sure he would pull the 25% votes in the remaining states.
Sweet victory for Mr President and PDP already.

Winning more states than your opponent does not matter.

What you need is to have at least 25% of the votes cast in 2/3rd of the total number of states which is roughly 24.

If a contestant has 25% of the total votes cast in 24 states and has a simple National majority vote, the contestant will be declared the winner of the election.

You think Buhari would win the NW? I dey laugh. The earlier the fulanis and their willing slaves realise that nigeria is for everyone, the better for them. We will vote just to prove a point, not because we like the person we would vote for, get that into your heads.

you are wrong there. You must meet the 2 conditions to be declared Winner. 1, Gaining highest no of the valid vote cast(ie simple majority) and 2, Gaining at least 1/3 of the votes in 2/3 of the states (ie 24 States)+ FCT. Only one condition cannot win you the Presidency

Silly analysis without any source. Anybody can create a pie and bar chart. So with the current SOE in the northeast, Borno state still came 5th with more registered voters than trouble-free states. Laughable.

PDP rigging machine will reduce turn out figures in states they will lose and increase turn out figures in states they win.
A look at 2011 election showed that while 6 million voters registered in Lagos state alone, only 2m voted! But in SE states almost 80% of those who registered actually voted and their votes gave PDP a 90% margin. That is numerical fraud at a shameless level.
In Kaduna for example, 3.9M voters registered and 2.6M voted (more than the whole of Lagos votes!).
I think in 2015, we need to have an independent website to collate election results. The collation from SS and SE is a joke.

highest no of states won do not win eelctions rather highest no of votes cast. This is waht this APC idiots are not seeing.Buhari cannot get 25% in up to 25 states this is because,he wont get it in the SS/SE/BENUE/PLATEAU.

GEJ can secure 25% in all the 17 Southerns states, and also the middle belt including states in the ne and nw like Kadunna, adamawa, and niger.

Buhari might be win in more sattes but the margin of victory wil go along way in determining the winner. While he can barely secure up to 70% victory in his core states ,GEJ will cost home with over 90% of the votes in hs areas of strength
