Suspected Boko Haram attack hits bus station in the town of Azare in Nigeria's northern Bauchi state, witnesses say.

A large explosion has rocked a bus station in a northern region of Nigeria previously targeted by Boko Haram, witnesses said, in what appeared to be the latest crack in the government's purported ceasefire with the armed group.

"We had a huge blast at exactly 9:45pm (20:45 GMT)... We realised it had come from the bus station," said Musa Babale, a resident of the town of Azare in Bauchi state where the blast occurred on Wednesday.

"The whole place was a mess," he added, in an account supported by several others.

The police and military did not answer calls seeking comment but another resident of the affected area near the Kano road said the security forces had surrounded the site.

"We found the place cordoned off by soldiers and police," said witness Mauzu Ibrahim. "From where I stood I saw bodies being put in a van."

Other witnesses also reported seeing casualties but it was not immediately possible to estimate the number and emergency workers were not available to comment.

While the cause of the blast remained unclear, and no group has claimed responsibility for the attack, Bauchi has been one of the hardest hit areas in Boko Haram's five-year uprising against the Nigerian state.

Take out PDP, and you've taken out BH.

This is just a desperate attempt by the party/sect to remain relevant in its twilight, and the blood suckers don't mind putting our innocent mothers and daughters in mortal danger or wasting the limbs of innocent Nigerians. When we hammered it into their ears that no sane government should negotiate with terrorists, they were hawking conspiracy theories of how the US does the same, as if two wrongs make a right.

Well if GEJ cannot save his own neck at the polls by securing the electorates lives especially at this critical moment of his desperate quest to hold on to power, then Nigerians have no business helping him since we are too busy trying to keep our own necks and bodies in one piece.

The government should either give them their caliphate, or kill them all. But not a ceasefire. It's as simple as that!

This ceasefire is just self sabotage and a very decision.
During the rally of the Military against the insurgents, they, the insurgents hadn't the space for any suicide bombing.
Squash boko haram.

There can never be peace without Justice!

IN MY OWN OPINION, I THINK ITS EITHER THERE IS A SPLINTER BOKO HARAM GROUP OR ANOTHER GROUP OF CRIMINALS PERPETRATING CRIMES IN THE NAME OF BOKO HARAM. WHY IS IT NOW THAT WE ARE IN TALK WITH BOKO HARAM, THAT 60 WOMEN KIDNAPPED, SOME PEOPLE WHERE KILLED LAST WEEK AND NOW THIS. MY OWN OPINION I THINK SOME PEOPLE ARE NOT HAPPY ABOUT THIS CEASE-FIRE.

No matter what, a ceasefire is not an option. These reprobates can leverage on the ceasefire to regroup themselves, map out new strategies, infiltrate other parts of Nigeria, and when we'll least expect it, they'll strike! They'll strike big!!

So, let the battle continue till there's no 'B' or 'M' left in 'boko haram'. Just kill them all!
