President Goodluck Jonathan has finally
announced his interest to contest in the
2015 presidential election, informing
leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party
(PDP) on Thursday that he would get the
nomination form of the party before the
deadline.
The party had said it would not shift the
deadline for the procurement of
nomination forms.
Jonathan's body language over time had
also shown that he was prepared to seek
re-election even though his government is
believed to have carried along with it, a
baggage of various challenges.
To ensure a successful declaration
exercise that is scheduled for between 7th
and 15th November, the President has set
up a Presidential Declaration Committee
headed by Dr. Haliru Bello, a former
Minister of Defence, to prepare the
programme for the declaration.
