Responsible for external GAAP/SEC Financial Reporting to meet all SEC regulatory reporting activities, including support of earning release, GAAP Technical statutory accounting, board/senior management financial reporting & analysis. Oversight of Accounting Operations projects and integration activities.

DEPARTMENT: Finance
REPORTS TO: Chief Accounting Officer

Essential Functions:

• Lead the timely completion of internal financial reporting packages (e.g. close and management package, etc.).
• Lead SEC reporting and ensure that all reporting requirements are met on a timely/accurate basis.
• Lead development of supplemental information, other support for quarterly earnings releases.
• Lead development of Quarterly Audit Committee financial update.
• Assist in preparation of significant accounting & reporting issues Audit Committee update.
• Provide financial analysis to executive team as needed. Review and validate analyses prepared by subordinates.
• Provide GAAP/technical accounting support for strategic projects (e.g. acquisitions, debt/equity capital offerings, etc.).
• Assist in the response to SEC comment letters/inquiries.
• Leads a team of Accounting professionals in support of the goals of the Accounting Operations team to include hiring, development and retention of key staff.
• Research & resolve broad GAAP technical accounting issues, and support GAAP technical research on managed health care plan-specific issues.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education:
• HND/Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or any related field required.

Technical Skills/Requirements:
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP, SEC accounting & financial reporting regulations and statutory accounting & reporting.
• Knowledge of health care statutory accounting and reporting.
• Experience with automated financial applications (e.g. SAP, PeopleSoft, Oracle, Great Plains, etc.) is required.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to research and resolve complex, technical accounting issues.
• Proven leadership and communication skills.
• Ability to drive multiple projects.
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment with changing priorities.
• Demonstrated time management and priority setting skills.
