Atiku
Atiku
Former Vice President, Atiku
Abubakar yesterday restated his
resolve to remain in the All
Progressives Congress (APC) no
matter the outcome of his ambition
in the coming presidential primaries
of the party.
Atiku gave the assurance in a
statement issued by his media office
while reacting to a story published
by a national daily.
The report claimed that Atiku would
defect to the People’s Democratic
Movement (PDM) if he loses in his
bid to become the presidential
candidate of the APC.
The Turaki Adamawa said he was
interested in the genuine change in
the leadership of the country.
He accused a senior member of the
APC of peddling the rumor.
He said: “This information is not
only egregiously false, but our
investigations have traced it to a
senior APC member from the
Northeast zone, who is working to
further the presidential ambitions of
another aspirant within the party.
“He is also known to be working with
certain elements in the Peoples
Democratic Party (PDP).
“Sadly, this is not the first time that
the same newspaper has yielded
itself as a tool for the dirty
machinations of this particular
unscrupulous fellow.
“The Atiku Media Office, has, over
the past few months, had to issue a
number of rejoinders against
falsehoods of such low quality
published by the newspaper.”
“It, therefore, advises the public to
completely disregard such
information.
“The former vice president stated in
a meeting with stakeholders in the
media in Lagos last month that the
APC is his ‘final bus stop’. That
proclamation still stands. Atiku
Abubakar does not intend to leave
the APC for the PDM or any other
party.
“Atiku Abubakar believes in the
‘Change’ message of the APC. He
believes that the party is the force
that will enable Nigerians to vote
the PDP out of power come 2015. He
believes that APC is progress.
“This change and progress that
Nigerians hope for will include a
media which can be relied upon to
provide the public with factual,
unbiased information”, the
statement concluded.

The collective goal is to weed out the PDP and its suppressive and corruption institutionalising agenda. Let's make the country work again and be turned back to the path of greatness and rejuvenation.

I hope the Turaki drop his agenda for 2015, let's have GMB do a single term, fix and end the plague of corruption ravaging the country and ensure all our institutions of democratic rule function optimally without dancing to the tune of Ask Rock then handover to a more business and development minded individual in 2019.

The business as usual kind of government we've had since 1999 has set this nation off the track of development and the sole reason is corruption and we need a radical leader with radical disposition and without the baggage of corruption hanging round his neck. We need to make this country work again.
