The Obafemi Awolowo University students
had an October to remember courtesy of
the visit of artistes Burna Boy, Sean Tizzle,
Kore and others. The show tagged SWAG +
MINDS.
The show which held yesterday evening 31st
of October at the Amphi Theatre of the
university started on a low key before one of
the stars of the day, Sean Tizzle mounted the
stage to the excitement of the students. The
‘Sho le’ crooner performed his popular
numbers from ‘Sho le’ ‘Loke Loke’ to ‘Mame
Eh’ and later rounded off with the hit –
‘Perfect Gentleman.’ He didn’t leave without
picking a raffle ticket that saw the winner go
home with a brand new laptop courtesy of
Cowbell Coffee.
Just when it was believed that Sean Tizzle
had raised the bar to the peak, OAU’s finest
rapper, Chinko raised it even higher with his
sublime performance that wowed the
audience. The rapper swept the audience
and organizers of the show off their feet
with his freestyle prowess as he rapped with
items around the venue and successfully left
his name on their lips.
The show wasn’t all hip-hop and secular as it
had in attendance Kore of the defunct
gospel group – Infinity and he churned out
beautiful songs both by the group and his
own solo efforts and his performance was
followed by performances from other OAU
artistes and dancers like
X-Factor and the FBI dance group.
No sooner had they performed than the
students started chanting for Burna Boy to
come on stage as the doubting Thomases
among them began to think the “Like to
Party” crooner did not honour the show.
There doubts were however squashed when
Burna Boy stepped on stage sending
the audience to a wild excitement. A few
students were stopped from mounting the
stage while he was performing in a bid to
maintain order.
Burna Boy turned the venue to a “Burna
Church” as audience worshiped him by
singing enthusiastically along with him and
the reward for that was throwing his shirt
and wristwatch into the crowd before he
was stopped from giving out further items
on him.
The show was rounded off with the
emergence of another winner from the
raffle ticket that was picked by OAU rapper,
Chinko which saw the winner go home with
a brand new ipad. Aduni Oluwawa and her
crew stepped on stage to give a vote of
thanks before venturing into the world of
praise and worship for the Lord who made
the show a success.
Many wonderful show was staged on OAU
campus in October but the SWAG+MINDS
show surely remains one of the best that left
the audience with a feeling of fulfillment and
excitement.

The show is tight but poorly organized.. That fat woman too dey Bleep up..na so she dey don in february show during NUGA concert..
Chinko is a good rapper
