Good point but this can only be said of a developed nations or nations where their government provides the platform.

Ask yourself.. What has the government done to improve your standard of living?

Be it PDP, APC or whatever.. They are bunch of looters..

I saw a block built 2012/2013 with damaged roofs(just 2 yrs?). I knew something went wrong until i saw boys playing foot ball. My take is, lagos state govt must stop the use of school compounds as a football pitch.
The house was not build 2012/2013 lather was painted

Go through my posts here you may understand better.
Revolution without the R i.e. EVOLUTION is much better as it leads to the development of INDEPENDENT democratic institutions to always act as Checks & Balance in any system.

Given the population CONCENTRATION of Igbo people in that area, it shows that you are ALL politically lazy not to have at least an Igbo LGA Councillor to REPRESENT your interest, particularly given the % of the IGR for the LGA that comes from you guys.
Perhaps you are very happy to simply complain and complain and even complain more.

Time to strategise and act is now........not tomorrow!!!

God bless u.

I don't expect 100% schools in Lagos to be attended to by the present government however it should be noted that Fashola's performance is over amplified.
The Logos state government is performing well in sanitation & traffic control but has failed in maintaining the massive capital projects put in place by the past FG. the few ones been put in place by Fashola are concessioned yet his govt have continued to borrow. I wonder where our taxes are going into.

Okay...

This gives me cause for concern on two fronts;

Government/Agency that built those structures:: The stamps on those walls read 2012/2013.. Thats less than 3 yrs ago. The state of those building show that the initial work was very sub-standard and not well thought out.. Look at the buildings especially the toilets.. JESUS!!! Who builds such things in 2012/13? Even by 2005 standards, those buildings are sub-standard.. The contractor should be in jail right now..

www.nairaland.com/attachments/1874883_img2014111800146_jpeg1b27de443b457a0f860e5adcdaaa187b

That is the interior of a classroom built in 2012.. And the government paid for it.. angry

The End Users::: Students, alumni and teachers.. Students destroyed those desks, marked those walls and defaced the building.. Teachers did nothing about it (preventative nor replacement wise). The PTA also seem to not give a Fhuck about the state of their kids schools and the Alumni seems none existence.
Those houses was not build in 2013 lather it was painted in 2012/2013 to deceive the gullibles. It was only in Awori college that I discover that govt will paint only the front of a building, leave the inside and back side. As u can see bellow

I cant believe that this is happening in The richest state in the country, The internally generated revenue from lagos tax payers alone is more than the GDP of 80 countries, when you add the allocation from the Federal govt they have more money than any of the 31 states can dream of yet these is the kind of schools the govt. sends its tax payers children to? What could any one possibly learn from such a dirty and unkempt environment?

I bet Fashola's kids dont go to schools like that? and the house the state govt. built for tinubus dog looks a hundred time better, Politicians like Fashola and tinubu need to be retired by the taxpayers vote in 2015, This kind of infrastructural rot cannot continue in this 21st century

I hate to comment on political threads, but I couldn't keep quiet on this one cos I spent some years in this school before switching to Command Ojo.

First of all, all those blocks labeled 2012/2013 is a HUGE fraud, those buildings were probably built in the 70s cos as at 1994 when I attended Awori, the buildings were already in bad shape.

Secondly, I have good capentry skills today, thanks to the fact that Awori students (at least in my time) had to build their own seats themselves, or seat on tyres. Awori has NEVER had good furnitutes - maybe they had in the 70s, cos I had teachers back then who also attended Awori, and never failed to talk about how great the school used to be in the 70s.

Thirdly, I went to Alaba market sometime last year, and curiously had to make a stop at the school. The pictures here do not tell the whole story: the rot is FAR WORSE that what these pictures show. And to think the school shares the same fence with Ojo Local Government is a shame. In fact, the whole of Ojo is a BIG MESS. I don't even want to talk about Alaba Market, to say the road is HORRIBLE is an understatement; I'm surprised the traders have not rioted since the government generated a fortune from that place. In fact I totally regretted going to Alaba that day cos it was a bad experience.

Awori really needs some serious intervention.

I still can't forget the very melodious school anthem:

O great Awori College!
Thou hath been a stepping stone,
We must achieve a great height to thee,
We shall leave no stone unturned to make it greater,
By aquiring useful knowledge,
Long May you live Awori College!!!

We are the future leaders,
And the light of this nation,
We must achieve a great height to thee,
We shall leave no stone unturned to make it greater,
By aquiring useful knowledge,
Long May you live Awori College!!!

At a time when we should be building Infrastructures that should last.. Somebody paid a contractor millions for this rubbish.. The government should be ashamed.. The building didn't even complete 4 years of their tenure..

No quality control.. At this rate we should be thankful the darn thing did not collapse.

I observe that there are so many arguments and expressions coming up on this thread. Brilliant! But I still maintain my previous comment: Governor Fashola should act now and ask questions later. A writer on this thread mentioned the poor or lack of maintenance culture. That is the bane. The underlying problem with our structures nationally and locally.
I also loved another writer who added another salient point that we all need to play our part. No matter how little.

If anyone has the capacity, kindly load these images on fb to further escalate this pitiable plight of students from this school. God bless Nigeria.

Re: Unbelievable Pictures Of Awori college Ojo Lagos by Nobody: 9:23pm On Nov 19, 2014
One more thing, that building in blue and white colours is the main administrative building of the school, (the biggest and best structure in the entire school) and I met it when I attended the school in 94. From my visit last year, I didn't see a single new building there built by the present administration or the one before it, just some cheap paint job on 40yr old buildings.

Awori is probably the biGgest and most important school in Ojo, so I don't see why it should be in this horrible state.

This thread really needs to be pushed out there so that the government's attention will be drawn to this great school. It'll be nice for the mods to move this to the political section cos no one will see it here in the education section (just a thought).

I can completely say now there is no good leader in Nigeria that have the citizens interest at heart. Please, don't vote leaders who don't care about your welfare. That country is in a deep sh*t!
