While attending the Coroner’s Court I was disturbed to hear that Judge Komolafe, the coroner head, complained that after the collapse of the building, church attendees still worshiped on the Sunday which followed. What is the relationship between the rescue operation and the Sunday worship? While people who were on rescue mission were doing their job at the rescue site, those who came for Sunday service were in the church, praying for the operation to be successful.

Why is the judge asking the police DPO why people were worshiping on Sunday while the rescue mission was going on? Does he want them to close the church? Christianity without works is a sin.

Judge Komolafe, the coroner head, note: God does not lose battles.

We are to pray as if all is up to God and work as if all is up to us. What can separate us from worshipping our God? Death, tribulation persecution; nothing can separate us from worshiping our God.

It is insensitive for the church to open for business while emergency responders were trying to rescue those trapped and recover the dead. Why would the organisation carry on as if nothing happened.

What the church did was Biblical. Situations like this call for us to pray and worship more. If you read your Bible in Job 1:20, Job fell down and worshiped after finding out he had lost just about everything, including his children.

I think it depends on context. If this tragedy had occurred within a business center, I could understand if people called termed such actions insensitive. But we are talking about a church here - and one that attracts up to 20,000 to a single service! T.B. Joshua still holding a service shows that he honours God irrespective of troubling circumstances. Also, as others have already stated, the service provided an opportunity for prayer and reflection in the light of the incident.

Contrary to what kITATITA stated, the church did not just 'carry on as if nothing happened'. Perhaps his own church acts more like a business, hence his thought that it should be closed down if a similar incident occurred!

TB joshua should have sent all the people that came to church back to their countries abi? since when did it become a crime to have church

according to many news reports, the so-called 'Emergency Rescue efforts' by NEMA wasn't that emergent as it appeared... ... have you asked NEMA if they even worked on Sunday?
