This is good advice, but the LCCI should also present figures to drive the point home better.

FYI, those expecting Jona to adhere to the advice should remember the Presidential Advisory committee (PAC) and their numerous recommendations for the government which our visionary Presido bravely ignored. It takes a certain kind of courageous stupidity to be in this government today

This is just another way of coaxing pple to believe that GEJ refreshment allowance got something to do with the present economic state of our dear nation.

If I'm given the chance to handle/amend this very case of economic downfall,
I will start from the SENATES,down to the HOUSE OF REPS
These two parties are the major parasites in this country

Hmmmm to b honest their refreshments alone can save a good number of Nigerians out of poverty..... n is not as if they use to take it so why not juz serve them pure water. instead they are thinking of reducing subsidy
Hmm National Assembly budget is higher than that of 21 States of the federation

So because he is or has eaten of it then we should not stop the waste. Why is it difficult for people in this nation to stop rewarding wrong doing. What is bad is simply bad. Stop rewarding wrong things.

We don't really understand these politicians.

Because less than 20 people are stealing subsidy money, you wanted to remove subsidy and cause more hardship for more than 160 million people.

Because there is decline in oil revenue now, you are bring, What have you people been doing when oil revenue was high ?

They don't really care about us, they are lucky we are Nigerians .. Make them try for burkina faso or ivory coast or guinea or kenya ..

Thieves idiots.. God punish all your generations.

The cost of running government is too high, add to this is the brazen corruption in the system that has been institutionalised by this government. Vote them out

@ Seun Ishilove and Obinoscopy

Pls change the title, LCCI is not an Agency of Lagos State Government but a Professional/Business Association. Your title on the FP is misleading.

Thank You!!!

Well not a bad idea. But how about the large lumps of salaries and allowances dat our SO CALLED leaders are taking home evry mont. We can result to drinking only water for all i care but we are unnecessarily spending money in d poltical sector. THAT IS WHAT NEEDS TO BE CHECKED.

Very good & valid point, which includes the LGA Councillor who only needs to have ATTENDED Secondary school and be 25 years old to collect a guaranteed N300,000 for doing NOTHING.

How many university graduates can secure that kind of salary in Nigeria today

For how long shall we remain MUGUS?

I think that is MAINLY because most of us, the citizens are comfortable being Passive Complainants rather than ACTIVE Complainants and greater PARTICIPANTS in the political process.

Any reasonable person who "INVESTS" in a candidate's electoral success will expect some "returns" therefrom. And the HIGHER the investment, the greater the expectation of the INDIVIDUAL "investor".
That is how it is in the US, UK etc. The only notable difference is that you have a VAST MULTITUDE of investors into their process hence the politician is more engaged to MANY of his constituents than in our country where we are all waiting for some "foolish" know-all, do-all messiah who will bail out of our self-inflicted woes.

More of us need to key into this understanding for greater democratic benefits to our society as our INSTITUTIONS develop furthe.
No shortcuts!!!
