7 Tech Myths You Should Stop Believing Right Now! (especially #3) by Dawatech(m): 7:02pm On Nov 24, 2014
Gone are those days! Days of Java phones, symbian phone, days when the favorite Nokia 3310 rules, Despite that the days are gone, still some believes associated with them are yet to leave many’s mind. Then, battery overcharging is an issue but now? Thanks to the technology improvement, lithium battery is here! did you still worry about charging your phone overnight? What about Mac computer don’t get virus, tell me you have stop believing this. Are you the type that rate phone megapixel above camera quality? Then you need to read these!

Here are
6 Common Tech Myths You Should Stop Believing Right Now!

1. Browsing in Private/Incognito mode keeps you anonymous

Chai! you are on a long thing, does that look like a Freedom or Hide my iP? Staying anonymous doesn’t work that way, If you’re using private browsing mode in firefox or browsing in Incognito Mode on Google Chrome, is just a way to tell your browser not to track or save your browsing sessions’s private data which include browsing history, searches, visited sites, cookies and the likes. It won’t keep your identity anonymous in anyway.

2. Macintosh Computer don’t get viruses

Is true Mac computer don’t get virus easily but the saying that “Mac computer don’t get virus” is wrong. Apple itself use this as marketing strategy not until 2012 when the report of thousands of Macs being infected by a Trojan virus dominated the internet, this led to the removal of this claim by Apple from their official website. So, if you are still believing this that Mac computer don’t get virus, then you are really outdated.

3. Leaving Your Phone Charging Overnight Can Destroy The Battery

Don’t be surprise, I was also a victim of this believe until a while ago before the time of composing this article, the first time i saw this, i was surprise, then i read more about it and found some concrete proofs. Is true leaving phone charging overnight can damage the phone battery but this is apply to the olden phones, phone like Nokia 3310. The proof i found shows that Phone Batteries these days are made of lithium-ion which are able to stop receiving electricity once they are fully charged, even when charger is still plugged in. Not only phones but laptop battery. So, there is nothing bad in leaving your phone charged overnight, no more overcharging issh!

4. More megapixels always means a better camera

Most people take camera megapixel for camera quality, these are 2 different things entirely, the quality of an image is determined by how much light the sensor is able to take in where in case of megapixels, the larger the pixel the more light it can absorb. When you see a 13MP camera, that doesn’t determine its quality, it’s really the size of the megapixels that matter more than the number of megapixels. The megapixels issh become ramper just because when determine the specifications of a phone, only the megapixel is being touched and not the size.

5. You shouldn’t shutdown your laptop everyday

Shutting down laptop always is not quit ok, but the saying that “You shouldn’t shutdown your laptop everyday” is wrong. Its ideal to shut down your laptop when you won’t be using it any time within the next 6 hours. But hibernate/sleep will be best when you have running applications on your computer and you want to continue the work soon. mind you, some applications may not work properly when launched from Hibernate mode, then you will need to shut down and restart your computer.

6. Don’t charge your phone unless it’s almost dead

Nothing like don’t charge your phone unless it’s almost dead, just that charging battery when its almost dead is good for battery life but not all the time, maybe like once in week. It’s not harmful to plug your phone in before the battery is dead at all. The main reason why phone’s battery life diminishes with time is because it’s already used up many of its cycles

Some have believed the tech myths until now, which has put them in unnecessary burden. It’s wise to stop believing this tech myth.
