The ball-like yellow substance positioned at the core of the whole egg (egg yolk), whose nutritional value has been neglected because science showed the presence of cholesterol in the yolk and also propagates the disadvantages of cholesterol to the body (science could be cruel on us at times). This modified the knowledge of consumers and instigated the negligence of egg yolk when ingesting egg because they fear it could elevate their blood cholesterol level not knowing they are missing some other beneficial nutrients in egg yolk coupled with fact that cholesterol content in egg yolk can’t shoot up the blood cholesterol level to the height at which it would lead to the derangement of the health of the consumers (too much knowledge “dey cause wahala”).

Studies have shown that the cholesterol content of egg yolk can’t have a deleterious impact on health especially on cardiovascular system. It gives the body the amount of cholesterol needed in a day if you consume one egg in a day. Humans should limit themselves to 300milligrams of cholesterol in a day and egg yolk gives 200milligrams of cholesterol though it still has some monounsaturated fats that are beneficial to health.

Studies even showed that eating a egg per day can’t cause increase in blood cholesterol level and thus can’t cause cardiovascular diseases and also eating five to six eggs a week can’t bring about cardiovascular diseases.

Moreover, the nutrients in egg yolk have the capability of countering the possible effects of high cholesterol level in the body. In addition, a study done at University of Connecticut showed that those that eat whole egg plus yolk has their LDL level unchanged and the HDL level increased by 20% ( HDL is aliased “good cholesterol” it is beneficial to the body) while those that eat egg white alone has an unchanged LDL and HDL (you see egg yolk is important yeahhhhh). This indicates that egg yolk is good for the body cholesterol. The fat deposit in the body has more significance in increasing blood cholesterol level than dietary cholesterol so we should focus more on burning those fats than dietary cholesterol (it’s not the yolk that is the problem it is that fat you keep accumulating).

Apart from not causing unhealthy increase of blood cholesterol level egg yolk has some good nutrients that are of paramount importance to one’s health. Nutrients like vitamin D, vitamin B12, folate, calcium, protein, fat soluble vitamins, zinc, phosphorus, iron, and essential fatty acids.

Eating egg yolk with the egg white exposes one to the complete nutritional content of the egg. Nevertheless, anything taking in excess turns to have a bad effect on the body so it is better to stick with one egg per day and not consume excessively (why would you want to eat more than one do you want to cause global warming by passing gas consistently).

CONSUME EGG YOLK AND LIVE HEALTHY
