A Year Of Code: 500 Students to learn Coding in One Year! by Toka1992(m): 11:03pm On Nov 25, 2014
Inner Pages and VPI has come up with an amazing new plan to create 500 tech savvy entrepreneurs in one year! The project is called One Year Of Code! It is a mobile school offering one year of code training for 500 students in 5 secondary schools.

A "One Year of Code" Mobile School has 1 vehicle, 25 laptops, and 2 Instructors. It serves 5 secondary schools in a year, training 100 students in each school for a duration of one year. The students will pay a token, not more than N5,000 for the year. During the weekends, the school stops at a community centre to train another set of 50 young people. Training is done for Coding, Web Entrepreneurship, Sound production, Video editing, Graphics, and Business Plan Writing. Annual Training Capacity: 600 students Duration:1 academic year

The project is in need of funding for the purchase of 10 Laptops! The popular and prestigious Cheetah Fund has accepted to fund 70% of the program but the remaining 30% must be funded by well meaning individuals like you in order for the remaining 70% funding to come from Cheetah.

Hello Toka, thanks for the publicity, but its an InnerPages and VPI project. By the way, the students will pay a token, not more than N5,000 for the year. This pays the two facilitators and fuels the vehicle. The current funding is for the purchase of 10 laptops. They are currently working at getting the remaining 15 laptops as well as the project vehicle.

It will launch in the middle of 2015 and the model is workable.
