Oni’s Deputy Hails Fayose Over Restoration of Privileges As Ekiti Ex-Governor

Former Deputy Governor of Ekiti State, Dr Sikiru Tae Lawal has hailed the State Governor, Mr Ayodele Fayose for restoring his privileges and those of his former boss, Chief Segun Oni, describing Governor Fayose as a leader with uncommon love for Ekiti and its people.

Dr Lawal, in a statement issued today, on behalf of members of the State Executive Council that served under the Segun Oni’s administration, said the governor had further demonstrated that he was on a mission to restore all the lost glories of Ekiti State.

The former deputy governor described the removal of Oni’s photograph from the Governor’s office and refusal to accord him (Oni) with the privileges of a former governor by the immediate past governor, Kayode Fayemi as “vendetta taken too far.”

He said despite that himself and Oni wrote a letter dated January 16, 2014 to Fayemi, demanding for their entitlements as former governor and deputy governor in line with the Ekiti State Pension Law 2006, Fayemi still refused to restore their privileges.

“We wrote a letter on January 16, 2014, demanding for the performance of the obligations of the State Government imposed under the Pension Law 2006 with regards to our entitlements, but Fayemi refused. Even when Oni joined the All Progressives Congress (APC) and campaigned for Fayemi, his pictures that they removed from the lobby and Exco Chamber of the Governor’s Office were not returned.

“Therefore, for Governor Fayose, who was worked against by Oni to have been magnanimous to the level of restoring our privileges that Fayemi wickedly denied us of, I can’t but be grateful to him.

“He is living to his promises of governing Ekiti with the fear of God and love for the State and its people, and I am thanking the governor on behalf of those who served under the Segun Oni’s government.”

When your enemy is hungry give him food by so doing you are pouring a coal of fire on his head.

Its time for Oni to eat his own words.
