This feels like the olden era where sacrifices of animals and humans were done to appease the gods. Over 250,000 animals are lined up for slaughter as Nepal embarks on a two-day religiousfestivalwhere buffalo, birds andgoatsare sacrificed to appease a Hindu goddess.

Naijafamous reports that millions of Hindus gather at the ceremony, which is held everyfive yearsatthe temple of Gadhimai, the goddess of power, in Bariyarpur, Nepal, near the Indian border.

The goddess, is said to bring worshippers goodluck.

The last time the festival was held, in 2009, more than 250,000 animals were killed, according toanimal rightsorganisation PETA, who is campaigning to put a stop to the practice.

The festival is ‘kicked off’ with the ritual slaughter of five thousand buffalo in a field near the temple, after which two days of ritual animal slaughter takes place.

They can drive all the Buffalos into extinction but GEJ is never gonna go to Nepal. He don't eat buffalo meat.

Bullsh¡t. Although they're killing them for the ceremony, South India with their reverence for cattle and beef products due to religious beliefs ironically accounts for the highest beef export in the world.
Others might see these killings as a waste but in no time they would package the meat and sell them off. No losses made.
