It seems these guys have a script for this thing by which they act because it happened to a friend of mine a while ago; the same action and the same place. The same way it had happened to me though in Abeokuta in 2010 along Abiola Way before it happened to my friend.
Even some commercial vehicles from the motor parks have been alleged to be involved in this racket.
Only God can save us.

I had a similar experience in 2009, in my own case it was a private car from ikotun toward isolo road,i boarded this car just in front of ikotun market gate, one fat woman was in the front with the driver while i was sitted between two men ,here it was the woman that own the bag full dollars which the driver want to be shared by all in the car they parked at ile-iwe bus stop for them to agree on how to shared the money and probably to see if i wil be the greedy type and agree to follow them to wherever they want to share the money,at this point i quickly asked that i want to come down and without any trouble they allow me, and as soon as i came down the driver speed off.the only differrence here is the driver did not ask for money before i came down. When i narrated my experience at office a colleague also said he has similar experience too.

op, sorry to say, ur message was not well passed acrossed, most people who weren't formally aware of their trick still won't understand this. it took me a while to even decipher this as I didn't have any knowledge on one chance tricks. edit ur story and explain properly or this thread is a waste

My now Wife fell victim to this.

It affected our relationship a little bit as she lost some money. It wasn't the money but the idea that she'll go to the bank and actually make withdrawal. I still don't understand it till today.

This happened in Ibadan, she entered on the Oke Bola road just below old Kingsway. The script seems similar to the ones related on here. It was a white Golf or Rabbit too.

Be safe out there and watch your going and comings.

Pardon me but is it that she wasnt supposed to go to the bank and withdraw? Sorry for your loss and lets thank God that madam wasnt hurt.

This one chance scam is getting rampant and everyone needs to be extra careful.

Try and understand what he is saying cuz I agree with him. If I am not mistaken, the essence of your post is also to educate those who aren't aware of the scam/trick. unfortunately your post fell short of doing that. You explained the story well but for someone unaware of the trick it is hard to understand why exactly you were running from the car? It is only after reading other people's comment that I could finally make a complete sense of your post. If your post is about telling your story/experience, you did that perfectly. If its about educating people about their tricks, the question they are left asking is; what trick?. I don't think you should write your post in such a way that someone needs to read the comments on page 2 to know what you are really talking about. A simple explanation of the trick at the conclusion of your post would have sufficed.
Anyways, you write very well.

my point is ur story isn't easily comprehendable to those who have little or no knowledge about one chance. many won't admit it but they just comment based on d topic as dey don't understand d story

I still doubt juju exist oh...are you for real?

Well, it was a close experience (a sad one), you don't have to believe it yet it would be stupid to come here and tell lies, if it didn't happened I wouldn't have said that besides I shared my own close sad experience for others that never had that kind of bad experience to learn from it. I was about telling it here too when it happened to her about five weeks ago because I called my friends and family to narrate to them and warned them to be careful and for unforeseen occurrence(s) of such ugly trick or experience but I latter let it go thinking someone might have post something of such on nairaland.

So my friend if you doubt, a lot is happening everyday and I pray you dont have sad/bad/ugly scenario before you'd be convinced... only the good God's protection and grace can safe.

This one chance scam is getting rampant and everyone needs to be extra careful.

She went to the bank to make an initial withdrawal of N50K to buy some stuff (I got the alert and was expecting it), then I got the second alert hours later that she took out another N50K. That got me worried as it's unlike her.

So what she told me was that they made her go back to the bank to make another withdrawal. She believes they used voodoo on her (I don't beleive in that) but it is what it is. I think it was more of a greed thing and we've had many discussions about that. Nothing in life comes easy and you can't cheat an honest Man.

We laugh about it now but we know it could have been worse so we are thankful.

PS: I was actually on the phone with her in the beginning phase of their theiving spiel but the connection was lost.

Am thanking God for d narrow escape i had just a month ago at Offa/erin/oshogbo road.i was at erin ile trying to board a bus to lag,my fiancee escorted me nd we waited for a bus to take me,a space bus stopped and i entered,my spirit felt relunctant,i wispered to my guy,he didnt hear what i said,so he tried to open to get to hear what i wanted to tell him, unkown 2 us,immediately i entered,d door locked itself, and there were just two men one sat infront with black specs d other in d middle.when my guy insisted he wants to hear what i want to say,d driver came down using his key to open,so i told my guy"is dis vehichle safe"then he started talking with d driver of where is park was,d 2 men also claimed dey were passengers in a rush to get to lag dat dey begged d driver to carry dem and to look for more passengers on d way!during d conversation,d man infront dropped a big black bottle of 'origin'my guy didnt noticed d bottle drop cos of his questioning d driver,i saw it buh didnt count it to mean anything,my guy asked d two men 4 their bags, dey said dey just rushed down to kwara n wants to get back to lag quickly,d questioning was getting long,so i just told my guy to leave d driver since he was defending himself and d men too were supporting dat dey also just took d bus with faith, dat i shld not panick!so d driver drove off with only me at d back!not upto 5mins!my guy called me to drop frm d bus dat d woman in shops infront of us when i wanted to board d vehichle hinted him of d vehicle to be a kidnapper bus!i gave d driver an excuse of forgetting my second phone at home, dat he shld drop me,he turned wanting to come back to pick d phone for me,buh i objected!dat was how i was saved frm d ritualist pple ooo.I cant thank God enough for d narrow escape!

I know that there are powerful forces in our tradition.

But why on innocent people? Why don't they walk into the bank and use voodoo to get money from the bank or use voodoo to waylay bullion vans?

Why not use voodoo to make Boko Haram lay down their arms and surrender or compel politicians that loot to run amok in the street in a crazed psychiatric episode?

I just wonder about these things.
