I strongly urge Nairaland members to avoid buying any car if the seller doesn't provide a chasis number or VIN. Sellers should also try to upload pictures of any vehicles for sale. Let us do what we can to restore confidence in this little automobile market or ours.

the chasis No is not the problem. You don't compare German cars with American specs. Americans have a database of their cars and here we don't. Its only the Police tht have such in terms of theft.

I know, you shouldn't have insulted me, after all,I don't ask for anything, just my love for the progress of this site,  the little i can do is to remind VIN to everyone as a measure to check unnecessary attacks or backbiting.

I don't even check VIN,but one has to volunteer to keep equal standard.

I wasn't gonna insult u. I only somehow feel bugged by somehow i don't know. I also have to ensure security for myself as a Car-dealer cos i don't know who is who. Somehow u have to understand. No insults intended really.

@Martins00, there is database maintained for German cars and those from the UK as far as I know. I believe someone once posted the websites on this forum. The information about vehicles are available to the public via the VIN number. It will be helpful if you please provide the VIN number for the benefit of credibility of all of us. Cheers.

Thats 67,000km not miles and besides if u're really familiar with Odometer reading, tht reading means it was only used for 2 1/2 years. A normal worker drives estimately 25,000km in a year! The car could be bargained on.
