It is a deflected question. The answer is in the question. "What is the name of the father?"

The father's name is 'What'. As in, Mr What.

'What' is the name of the father. Just like 'James is in the name of the father'

Father's name = What.

Correct..

A standard question has only one question mark and not two....

So therefore....the answer has already been stated = What.

Na wah Oh!! This shows that many people don't read posts not to talk of comments, people have already answered correctly "MUST" and it has been confirmed by the OP and some people still comment below saying the answer is TWO or 72. Where are we actually heading to in this country angry
Re: Brain-teaser by scantee(m): 4:33pm On Dec 16, 2014
The ans is Mr Sixty. Note the Mrs represents the wife she has no name, sixty is the husbands name, while Two is the family name I .e surname. In our tradition you don't answer directly your fathers name, you answer your grandfathers name. Base on this the husbands name is MR SIXTY.
Re: Brain-teaser by aaamos(m): 5:12pm On Dec 16, 2014
Mr two
Re: Brain-teaser by Nobody: 5:18pm On Dec 16, 2014
Thumbs up! 2 de op bt I tell u honestly, de ans to dis questn is rather ambiguous; infact i term it equivocal cos attimes, de family generic name (surname) in some cases, differs from our father's name. So, in such condition the ans becomes hard to deduce. Taking de nomenclature analogy: great granda pa = A, grand dad= x A, dad= Y A... By inference, it will be hard to tell de father's name in such brain teaser sequence which arouse contraditions and mixed feelings. I would have answered TWO bt from my observations, dat seems to be de grandpa or great grandpa's name.
Re: Brain-teaser by sagekellz(m): 5:45pm On Dec 16, 2014
Father's name is Mr Two. Hence, the distribution of the name amongst all members of the family.
Re: Brain-teaser by Tchiman(m): 6:39pm On Dec 16, 2014
The papa name is MR. TWO!
Re: Brain-teaser by akinsadeez(m): 7:04pm On Dec 16, 2014
esof1:

Dame patience ebele-Jonathan not Dame Goodluck Jonathan.

lets assume Ebele Jonathan = Sixty two

Goodluck Ebele Jonathan - Mrs Patience Ebele Jonathan

Therefore, Mr [first name] Sixty Two = Mrs [first name] Sixty Two

sixty two is the compound surname so his name is also Mr sixty two. grin

Don't understand or agree with this.

Are you saying the second question mark turns sentence into a statement and not a question or what. Even if I agree that a normal sentence will have only one question mark, how does the second question mark change the sentence into something else

father name is TWO MR TWO
Re: Brain-teaser by Keluong(m): 8:43pm On Dec 16, 2014
This question has some level of ambiguity in it.
The only obtainable information from this is that they share a common surname "Two". So the father, like all others can bear Mr/Mrs Two
No reason to conclude.father's name is seventy two.

lol, i also disagreed when i was first told the answer too....

All the same its a brain teaser, its meant to test the level of reasoning.

Official questions come with one question mark and never two.

But our brain would tell us its a question even if it has 10 question marks but its inappropriate to use more than 1 question mark

Also, if i were to say it to you verbally....i guess that is when you'll catch the trick

I understand you bro looking at it from the angle that it is a brain teaser.....but my question remains that generally speaking, ''does a double (or more) question mark change a question into a statement''. I'd like to know the answer. If yes, then I av learnt something new today.

Mr TWO- since two is the surname.
Re: Brain-teaser by strykr: 10:36pm On Dec 16, 2014
The question says what is the name of father? ...................therefore FATHER is the name of father or whosoever the question concerns.
