II. SPECIALTY CLEANING SERVICES

a. HARD FLOOR CLEANING
Hard floor or stone floor as they are generically referred to has gained increasing popularity due to its aesthetic appeal and durability especially in commercial buildings, lobbies and common circulation areas.
The more porous the floor, the higher the need to use a sealer. But we use impregnators, which are the highest grade of a sealer that penetrate into the stone and does not inhibit breathing of the floor. However the general principles of stone floor maintenance are applied as follows;

For daily general cleaning of stone floors, we use liquid soap with a neutral pH of about 6.8 – 7.2 to ensure that the floor does not etch as will happen with acidic solutions or become cloudy when alkaline solutions are used.

HARD FLOOR CLEANING – Daily Cleaning
• Walk off mat – Walk off mats placed outside and inside an entrance remove most sand, dirt and grit from being tracked onto stone floors. Adequate walk off mats should be selected for the entrances of your offices. We advise clients on using the seven - step rule in selecting appropriate walk off mats. The rule states that it takes about seven steps to remove loose dirt from the bottom of shoes as people walk into a facility. This should be borne in mind when buying mats. Walk off mats must be regularly cleaned at least hourly in high traffic zones or more whenever deemed necessary.

• Mop sweep, Mop sweep, Mop sweep using dust control mop sweeper.
• Vacuum to pick up grit and sand.
• Daily mopping with neutral natural soap as stated above. Natural soap that we use leaves a thin protective film to help repel soiling as against detergent which opens up stone surface causing surface to get dirty more quickly.
• Wet /dry vacuum and or floor squeegee to remove wet residue immediately after mopping.
• Soft bristle brush is used on grouting.

HARD FLOOR CLEANING – Stripping and Scrubbing
• Weekly stripping and scrubbing of non-polished hard floors high traffic areas with standard rotary scrubber with drive-board
• Monthly stripping of polished and coated hard floors with standard rotary machine and stripper

HARD FLOOR CLEANING – Polishing and Buffing
• Select appropriate floor care solutions to be used e.g. high solid content polish and finish are appropriate for marble, terrazzo and other porous agglutinate, low solid content or maintainer for glazed tiles; vitrified, granite etc.
• Monthly polishing and buffing of all floors with high-speed buffer.
• Polishing of high traffic areas as required weekly, fortnightly etc using high-speed buffer.
Longer-term maintenance of hard floor may require the following
 Recrystalization – a process of nitrifications to restore the original shine after a period of use
 Honing/Rehoning – a process of abrasive finishing of stone floor to smoothen the surfaces

b. CARPET & UPHOLSTERY CLEANING
Carpet and upholstery cleaning requires due care, skill and attention. Leveraging on appropriate technology is paramount for proper carpet cleaning and maintenance.

Carpet cleaning is divided into 3 as follows;
CARPET- General cleaning
General activities to ensure the adequate life span and maintenance of carpets;
• Spot cleaning of water-soluble stains.
• Surveillance to remove offending substances.
• Relaying and rearrangement.
• Mechanical protection using overlays etc.
• Daily regular vacuuming to remove grit and sand.
• Manual soft /bristle brush removal of sand and grit especially from high traffic areas.

CARPET CLEANING - Dry system
1) HOST DRY CHEMICAL EXTRACTION CARPET CLEANING SYSTEM
We employ this powerful breakthrough technology in our carpet maintenance. It is suitable for general maintenance; mild soiling and heavy soiling and can restore carpets that ordinarily appear written off.
The Host machine first brings up all the sand and grit hidden in crevices and also goes beneath the carpet, which makes it spectacular compared to other similar machines. 80 – 90 % of the silt is removed in this first process. Thereafter a specially formulated chemical called host sponges, is applied and driven into and beneath the carpet with the machine. It undergoes a chemical reaction with the remaining sand, silt and grit and brings it up to the surface and is subsequently removed with vacuum machine.
The system is fast, uses no water, leaves no residual odour and materials are non allergenic and inert

2) BONNET EXTRACTION METHOD

This is a semi dry method that we use. It is very efficient for high traffic areas. A bonnet pad is applied using a standard low speed scrubber with very little shampoo. It cleans and dries the carpet immediately.

CARPET CLEANING - Wet system
1). ROTARY SHAMPOO
This is the common wet system employing carpet shampoo and standard rotary machine. It is a wet system, which is followed with extraction with wet vacuum extractor followed by drying with floor drier.

SUMMARY - CLEANING OF CARPETS AND UPHOLSTERY
• Weekly dry chemical extraction (HOST) cleaning of high traffic areas or as required using carpet chemical extractor
• Monthly shampoo cleaning of all carpeted areas using with standard rotary machine with shampoo brush
• Quarterly shampoo cleaning of all upholstered furniture

c. CLEANING OF REFLECTIVE GLASS AND ANODIZED PARTITIONS
• Monthly washing of reflective glass with abrasive window washer
• Monthly squeegee of reflective glass with NUMATIC squeegees
• Monthly polishing of anodized partitions

We experts are proficient in identifying all kinds of infestations and provide solutions accordingly. We undertake quarterly fumigation of premises; Larviciding, Mist fogging, Spraying, Dusting
Below is a detailed background of the fumigation services required

UNDERSTANDING COMMON PESTS BEHAVIOUR AND HABITS PREAMBLE
Effective pest control management requires proper understanding of pest factors such as types, biology, habits, available control methods etc. of pests commonly encountered in our environment. It also requires the understanding and manipulation of environmental factors that aid the proliferation of pests and common bugs.

We earnestly believe that for a pest free work place, you need to fumigate your office at least once every quarter for the following reasons;

PEST FACTORS

• TYPES OF COMMONLY ENCOUNTERED PESTS
There are numerous orders, families, and species of pests in this environment and quite a number of them have high mutability (i.e. ability to change their properties to new strains within a short period and thus develop resistance to common methods and control agents). The probability of recurrence within a relatively short period of apparent extermination of pests is therefore high.

For example, a recent study conducted by a body of pest specialists revealed that for every 1-cockroach seen and destroyed there are 99 others yet to be seen and destroyed. Thus short spaced-out and regular fumigation using updated agents is necessary to overcome the numerous possibilities of the different types of pests.
The different groups of commonly encountered indoor pests are as follows;
• rooster roaches e.g. Brown, Brown-banded, Surinam, Oriental etc.
• Occasional invaders e.g. Bugs, Centipedes, Mites, Beetles, Crickets etc.
• Ants e.g. Carpenter, Soldier, Pharaoh, Acrobat, Crazy, Large yellow etc.

• Blood feeders e.g. Fleas, Bugs, Lice, Mites etc.
• Fabric and pantry pest e.g. Beetles, Bugs, Millipedes etc.
• Envenomizing pests e.g. Spiders, Wasps, Scorpions
• Vertebrae e.g. Mice, Rats, Worms, Mites, Moths etc.
• Flies e.g. House, Cluster, Bottle, Gnats etc.

PEST BIOLOGY
A common denominator in the biological properties of most pests is the relatively short period of reaching sexual maturity, high number of litters’, and rapid large population build up.
For example, the house mouse (Mus musculus Linnaeus) reaches sexual maturity in 30 – 35 days, averages 6 –7 litters, each with at least 6 young mice. Thus if 1 house mouse finds its way into your office, it builds up about a population of 30 – 35 (minus those from its offspring’s) within a relatively short period of less than one year.

• PEST HABITS
Most indoor pests are good climbers, good jumpers (can jump down many feet), good squeezers (can pass tiny holes and gaps), good hiders, secluded nesters (nest in dark secluded areas where nesting material such as paper, cardboard, files etc. are readily available), shy and anti social etc. All these factors combine to increase the possibility of missing out a few during a one off fumigation exercise and increase the perpetuity of these pests.

For example, the roof rat (Rattus rattus, Linnaeus) unlike the house mouse is very shy and antisocial thus avoids unusual items and changes in its habitat thereby making its control relatively more challenging. It is therefore imperative to conduct regular and repeated fumigation exercises in order to overcome these self-perpetuating habits of commonly encountered pests.

• HEALTH RISKS
Most of the pests have serious potential health risks and hazards being vectors, carriers and or transmitters of various diseases. These diseases have been found to be under-diagnosed in our environment due to dearth of modern diagnostic facilities. Thus a number of fevers assumed to be malaria fever are actually due to some of these pest borne diseases.
Examples include;
I. Plague - deadly disease vectored by rodent and rats
II. Leptospirosis - vectored by rodents and rats
III. Tulaeremia - vectored by flies
IV. Relapsing fevers - vectored by louse and tick
V. Oroya Fever- transmitted by sand flies
VI. Enteric fevers (Typhoid and Paratyphoid) - flies play a significant role in transmission
VII. Food Poisoning and Cholera - vectored by houseflies (Musca domestica)

and a host of other common communicable diseases, which impair health, increase medical expenditure, reduce productive man-hours and ultimately reduce organizational productivity and effectiveness. It is therefore imperative to ensure that regular pest control activities are carried out to avoid the physically, psychologically and financially costly prospect of pest related diseases.

ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS
There are so many factors in the environment that one may not have direct control over but contribute to the breeding and perpetuation of pests. These include cosmopolitan nature of the city and its attendant problems, high population per square meter, general poor sanitation, non-pest control conscious neighbours etc.
The most feasible solution to these factors over which you do not exercise direct influence is to regularly fumigate your school and ensure that your own work place is pest free.

We employ best industry practices using high-end chemicals with a good therapeutic index ensuring that the there are no untoward residual deleterious effects on human beings. We provide the following;
 Pyrethrial residual dusting using blowers and sprayers
 Deratisation and baiting
 Larviciding of building and surrounding drains and crevices
 Spraying of environment to rid it of pests and pathogens using manual and motorized sprayers
 Misting and fogging using swing fog machine
 Pest control using natural and biological methods
