A Boyfriend's Retribution. by Jaymima(f): 7:09pm On Dec 07, 2014
I witnessed an incidence recently. I went to see a business
associate at a hotel in Owerri at night when I found out he
was yet to return to his room. He had urged me to give him a
few minutes that he was on his way back. While waiting at
the lobby an incidence occurred. A young girl who to me
would not be more than 18 years and probably a student was
in the hotel with her brothers who had come home for the
Christmas holidays. I learnt that one of them was building a
house in their village and so they would all spend the day
there and come to town to pass the night in the hotel. What I
gathered eventually was that the girl had told her boyfriend
that her brothers were in town and that she would be going
to the village with them. Her brothers were three and they
appeared to be living abroad (America most likely from their
accent). The girl had come down to the lobby of the hotel to
sort something out with the receptionist when she ran into a
friend of her boyfriend. They had exchanged pleasantries and
then the guy left while she continued with her business at
the front desk. The guy probably had called his friend that he
had seen his girlfriend in the hotel. (you can imagine what he
could have insinuated as it was at night) Within minutes the
boyfriend showed up with another friend of his and accosted
the girlfriend right there at the front desk. Sounding
pleasantly surprised she greeted him in a very warm and
friendly manner and had made to either hug or touch him
when he dropped a resounding slap on her face. Before
anybody knew what was happening the poor girl was already
on the floor with a bleeding nose. To make matters worse the
guy dragged her by the hair outside and went ahead to
pummel her as if she were a fellow guy. The little girl did not
even have the chance to talk or explain anything to him and
just kept screaming. He called her all sort of names while
beating her. I recall her being slapped at least four times on
the face. He had accused her of lying that she was going to
her village and not picking his calls because according to him
she was 'servicing' someone in the hotel.
Commotion erupted and the manager rushed out and ordered
the security to lock the gates of the hotel. I, together with
some other people intervened and rescued the girl from
further beating from the boyfriend who was fuming and
shouting that we should mind our business. Some people had
originally thought it was a politically motivated incidence
because of the high number of politicians and their aids that
were in the premises. One of the receptionists then called her
brother in one of the rooms and that one rushed down armed
with a baseball bat. This guy was in excess of 6ft and heavily
built. The guy took one look at his sister and went to the
receptionist, yanked the intercom from her and called his
other brothers. The two of them came down and they
accosted their sister's boyfriend and his friend. These
brothers were both towering at about 6ft 4 and well built as
well. One of the brothers queried their sister's boyfriend who
retorted by asking who they think they were and that they
should mind their business (or something like that). Then all
hell was let loose. People, if you know me well you will
understand what I mean when I say somebody was beaten
up. This was the first time in over a decade that I witnessed
this sort of beating. The boyfriend and his friend were
battered beyond repair and their ribs broken. The girl could
not even offer any word of defense for her boyfriend, herself
completely dazed from the manhandling she had received.
They all ended up at either the police station or hospital as
they were evacuated by a combined team of police and hotel
security. I am very sure that guy and his friend will never
ever raise their hands against anybody again, especially a
lady. Hand touch those two guys no be small. I swear. Na so
Christmas start for some people.

That's why it is good to confirm first before taking action. Half truth is really dangerous.
