De main identity of any country na dem flag. You go see each country flag during olympics or world cup or for front of dem embassy. People dey use dem flag to connect with oda of dem country people. Once you see ya country flag anywhere outside ya country, you go know say ya country person dey around dat area.

Most big cities for yankee dey allow foreigners to celebrate dia independence day, and each country dey fly dem flag like no man business. October 1st for most big cities like new york, dallas, los angeles and maryland na green-white-green everywhere. Naija music and food plenty yanfu yanfu.

But dis flag tin for yankee get anoda level. Every state for here get dem own flag. For every govment building you see de flag of dat state for de front. Even some people dey hang dem state flag for de front of dem house. People for here dey carry dem state for dem head oo! Afta de american flag, de next most important tin na state flag.

But wetin be de origin of all dis state flags? Well.., as usual I decide to do my own aproko (research) work. And I come discover some interesting tins! First na de way yankee take get dem independence. Dem fight Britain to get am. And dat time (1776), thirteen states come togeda to form USA. But before dat union, all dis thirteen states been dey like individual countries. Each of de states been get dem own head of state, currency, congress, supreme court and FLAG too.

So afta dem come get independence, oda states wey been dey act like country come begin join de union. And so USA come begin grow and dey increase for de number of states. Den finally de last states to join na alaska (1959) and hawaii (1959).

Uptill now, each state still get some kind independence like dem own state police, supreme court, senate and house of reps. And dem still get de right to keep dem own FLAG. Na im make for here, state govnors get plenty power. No be like for Naija wey president fit remove govnor unto "state of emergency". Even sef, de govnor dey incharge of de special unit for US army wey dem call National guard.

So based on everytin wey I don explain, each state still get de right to break away from de USA and become dem own country. Dat right dey for dem constitution. Na im make for here dem no dey suffer from dat disease wey we dey call ORDERS FROM ABOVE. For here, state executives go mind dem own business for dem state and de federal people go mind dem own business for de federal level.

We for Naija dey claim say we dey follow american system of govment. But if you don live for dis country for sometime, you go sabi say we no get anytin in common with dem. From de way de two countries start, de way wey each country dey play politics, to de way wey awa officials dey follow constitution, you go realize say both govments dey totally different.
