Hey guys, don't stress urselves over courses u were admitted into. Your gonna be given a chance to switch to a desired course.

Anyways only a few end up switch, thise that switch end up regretting due to unanticipated programme difficulty.

So relax.
If u haven't seen ur name on the admission list, I advice u relax too.

ICE is a very good course especially in nigeria where IT is really growing rapidly, my advice is for you to stay, you can work anywhere especially in IT industries like IBM , Microsoft, FRCN, Most television stations, MTN telecoms, Airport, Sony errison, DSTV or shell petroleum industries. people run away from it because its a bit tough course tho,

Also ICE, you can become a software architect, Network enginner, broadcast enginerr, It engineer, telecomm Engineer, A programmer, Computer system analyst, communication Engineer, information analyst, industrial engineer,

They are usually the most highest paid in any IT industry...so my dear please dont change, I tell you ICE na hotcake especially in nigeria and universities like CU, BU and all. you can get a good job even on graduation, trust me .... my cousin graduated from covenant 2005,he studied Information technology which is now ICE he is now working in exxon mobil In abuja an IT engineer....so please I encourage u to stay

this world is turning into a global village

and changing to elect elect will be easy if u hv a cgpa of 4.5 and above in ur first year in ICE

I don't get.. So you mean those with jamb score below 230 should forget about getting admitted. Don't the university exam even count for anything. Coz all I have bin hearing here is jamb score this and that.

Well, you will be admitted if your score is above 180, but I doubt if you will get an engineering course or Accounting/Architecture/Economics/Mass communication if you dont have above 230 or so

All documents that you had during your interview.

I was going to release this after the second list was out but, seems like its going to be delayed.

This is just to give you a picture of how your first day of resumption would be so you can prepare effectively.
NOTE: all this is based on how it was last year. CU can change their method anytime, but I don’t think it would be a major change.

Firstly, resumption
If you are going to resume on the 9th of august, make sure you have paid your school fees in full. You won’t be able to do anything without paying you fees in full. Also print the payments receipt from the portal (portal.covenantuniversity.edu.ng – click on “payment receipt” and click print).

Also, if you are going to resume on Sunday (9th) make sure you arrive before 5 pm; 4 pm to be safe. I arrived late last year and I couldn’t move through the registration process because all the officials that were supposed to help were packing up. People went to the hostel to check if they could get temporary accommodation and this was. People fainted and stuff. This is very important especially if you are not living in Lagos or Ogun and you would be making use of the road. So please, arrive on time.

Last year, the whole registration process took place in the Lecture Theatre. It is easy to spot and is probably the first building you would encounter. Its also the place where your interviews took place. You can also ask for directions from the security at the school gate.

STEP THREE
Getting your documents ready for registration. If you want to have a stress free registration after resuming in to school, get the following documents ready
1. JAMB result (4 copies)
2. O level result – if available(4 copies)
3. Pastoral reference letter(4 copies)
4. Sponsorship letter(4 copies)
5. Your application form(4 copies)
6. Birth certificate. (4 copies)
7. Your notification slip(4 copies)
8. Payments receipt (3 copy)

I will advise you to keep the original copy of your birth certificate and your jamb result and bring only the photocopies because you may lose these documents- and you don’t want to do that

So you have entered, cu, u have your luggage in your vehicle, you are dressed cu compliant, and ready to experience cu. But wou are confued about what step to take, or u just want to know how everything will happen…. Well hre it is.
First, move to the registration point(lecture theatre) with your luggage in your vehicle. Ther is a lot of parking spac available. Donot bring down your luggage. But take along your freshers form ( it should be uploaded on the schools website soon) nd a copy of your payment receipt and notification of admission slip.

*there are different points of registration in the lecture theatre and this would be marked with printed signs and numbers indicating what step of the registration u are at nd where to proceed to**

Point one: Admissions.
Activity: verification of admission status.
Here you would show your notification slip to the official who will confirm that the slip is genuine and that you have been given admission. You would also be given your registration clearance form which you would use to collect stamps at every point of the registration. Stamps might also be collected on your payment receipt.

Point two: financial services
Activity: verification of payment status
This is similar to the first one. Someone looks at your payment receipt, makes sure its real and stamps your registration clearance form. And your payment receipt.

Point three: Student Affairs
Activity: allocation of Halls of Residence
This is when you are allocated a hall and a room by a representative of the student affairs. The official may have to look at your clearance form and collect some details from you. He or she will also stamp your registration clearance form and probably write your room number and hall on a document for you.

NoTE: somewhere in between these steps, you would submit your freshers form. I don’t rememeber when, but its somewhere along the line. Also, the above steps shouldn’t take more than 20 minutes in total.
p.s: after you are allocated your room, you can proceed straight to the hostel with your vehicle to sign in into the hostel and drop your luggage in your room, and say bye bye to your parents. Note, your luggage will be searched for contrabands like jeans and chinos or glass bottles and such. So it better you avoid them. your parents can leave and go their way at this point. try not to get too emotional
