this is my third yr on the business,

i specialize in catfish

my first advice is that , fish rearing is a time consuming and it needs total dedication (especially during the formative months),

if you are willing to start, quit your day job, (if not ull come home one day to find that all your fishes are floating lifelessly)

@godmantimi, you will use about 4.8million to feed the 60k juvenile to tables size. you need a pond size of 3m by 6m by 1.5m and you will spend about 400k to build the pond, but it all depends on your area, and how things cost over there.

We specialise in qualitative mass production of Clarias frys, fingerlings, juveniles and table size fish up to 2kg and above.

We employ proven hatchery techniques (from extensive training) gathered from Royal Fish Benin
Current brood stocks for production all originates from Royal fish Benin.


We currently have for sale now several thousand fingerlings (about 20,000), and in 7 weeks several thousands juveniles.
There are a further several thousand fries that would be maturing to fingerlings and juveniles in 8 weeks and 12 weeks respectively.
We do batch production to have a continual supply of fingerlings and juveniles.

I work in a bank but grew up as a farmer!.
I am interested in starting a fish farm in abuja. i just acquired 1hectare of land at a suburb
pleas i have the following questions:

1. where can i get big plastic bowls to serve as fish ponds and how much do they go for.
2. Is there a way i can grow algae for the fish to eat?
3. Is it possible to recycle the water so that minimal water is wasted. the alternative is to used the water waste as irrigation.
