My old weather beaten Toyota Corolla,aka cricket, starts getting funny sound on start up.Recently when i put in the ignition key to start the engine, i hear a kpom sound, then i kicks off,What is this kpom sound alluding to, kick starter, or yet to be ineffective kick starter relay?.I am convinced my battery is on top form

Make that sound again didn't hear it right the first time I though I heard nkpa nkpa

Just a soft taping sound

Sounds like your starter solenoid pushing the kick starter teeth into position to turn ur engine flywheel.

Apparently, ur kick starter teeth is wearing out hence the soft tapping sound you hear.
