Having fail to secure admission into 'Hnd' twice, his father want him to go into trade.
But being a cuddled(pumpous) child right from childhood and having heard of how masters treat their apprentice, he decided to disobey his father. Which in turn ignite his father discretion to cut-short his needs which in future may extend into total pocket-blackout due to his father ill-tempered. #landers ur advice will be welcome for this fellow....

Igbo family? It is a common occurrence in the south east. Probably the dad is a trader and wants the son to take over from him when he is retired.

You can't blame the dad, he probably understands what those years spent at home means for a businessman, and his patience is already running out.
I suggest the boy should juggle both now... Go to the shop and still study for his exams until he gains an admission. He also should involve other family members who could help make his case for him.

City and Guild is the best in Nigeria for learning a trade.

Go and learn what you were told to learn or better, any vocation you like. You will thank him later as even the most schooled are improving themselves now by learning one craft or the other. Just ensure you don't rule out education entirely. Your daddy gave you a VERY brilliant idea.

Tnx! He earlier ask his dad, whether he'll open a shop 4 him afta learnin d trade 4 1yr.... But his dad persist dat he'll not give out his money to a callow.... Which implies he want him to be a 'boyee' -- spendin 7yrs or above servin a master.....
For the family pleadin; he's a hard-core man who hardly listen to his wife while angry

In that case, I would not suggest disobeying his old man. He should go learn the trade and go back to school when he is independent.
