Nollywood actor, Nonso Diobi has revealed the pressure he has had to deal with from his mother as far as the issue of marriage is concerned.

Nonso stated that his mother is somewhat confused that he doesn’t seem to be inching closer to marriage despite being 38 years old already.

Revealing the extent of the pressure that the elderly woman has mounted on him, he said:
‘My mum was going through my phone contacts this morning and she concentrated more on d female contacts wondering why I’m still single…. Lol.’

At 38 years old, the actor, who came to limelight in 2001 after featuring in a Nollywood movie titled Border Line, doesn’t seem to feel the pressure though.

I totally agree. A lot of people take marriage as some kind of social status climb. People are getting married and having kids not because they are ready to,but because of the pressure mounted on them by by our society that regards marriage as the "be all and end all" of life. Marriage is hard work and not some kind of joy ride.

Nonso Diobi is not 38. I have known him since he was a little boy in Achara layout,Enugu. He was still in junior secondary school when I left plus his late senior brother was my friend and class mate. Nonso was even friends with my younger brother in the early 2000's when they used to go to auditions together.So how can he be 38 when I am not even 38 myself?? He is way younger that,probably 31 or 32. This is a boy I used to kneel down in secondary school.
