The North feels threatened whenever Nigeria strives towards equality, simply because they know that they are backwards and that in an equal playing field, the south will leave them behind instantly. They know that they don't and will never ever have anything to offer and so they cling on to the south like leeches, always threatening and cursing/abusing in the hope of staying relevant.

Also why is the north afraid of a transparent national census that will classify everybody by ethnicity and religion so that we can really know once and for all, which part of the country is greater in number.

Each time someone brings up the issue of census, the north become uncomfortable. I think we all know the reason why.
