So you actually allowed your baby to fall while you were asleep but i am sure that your iPhone 6 was intact on your bed which you use in nairalanding.

Please take the child to the hospital as soon as possible,
insist on an X-ray to check for any abnomalities.

Please, next bring down your foam to the floor, and spread thick clothes around it ... Do not leave any child sitting on a chair, sofa in a tiled room.

The best rooms for children are rugged and tatami rooms as these are soft and less hazardous to falls.

Best wishes for you child

give paracetamol if she is crying and make sure it doesn't happen again. its not good for children under 3 months to fall.

scientist av proven over the years that it causes epilepsy.

be more careful next time pls.

Obviously, this is Ur first baby. Kindly go with the following advice or see Ur post natal consultant.
1) Calm down
2) Carefully inspect the baby's body to note if the fall caused a fracture
i) In case U notice a fracture, take the baby to a children hospital for treatment
ii) If no fracture, U might try an x-ray to avoid internal issues.

3) If u be ajepako, bone the matter. What doesn't kill U makes U stronger

I fell asleep with my one month old baby on my chest and woke up to see him sleeping on the floor (he fell down from my body to the tiled floor). He's breathing well and has gone back to sleep after being breast feed. Hop there is nothing to worry abt?.

All of you calling OP careless are insensitive...

I don't have a child just yet, soon sha, but I'v been privileged to help nurse a friend's new born...that experience still remains with me..

If any of you have truly nursed a new baby, you'll know its no child's play especially with no help...maybe OP just got the opportunity and doozed off for a few minutes, (body no be wood na) and this happened....

Like other sensible and sensitive people have advised OP, please check baby with a doctor just to be certain all is well.

Jisike nwanne madu! God is your strength o.
well said dear. I believe most mothers can relate with the op.
Op,take ur baby to the hospital if you are not at ease

Pls take dat baby to hospital asap. This is the kind of issues dat stunt kids growth or even ret ard them. Wit the blood seen in the nose, who knows if major issues may arise. Pls go now to a pediatrician and update us.
Re: My One Month Child Fell, Please Advise by cutesonia: 5:27pm On Dec 15, 2014
Thanks to you all. I really appreciate all your comments and suggestions. We noticed a small wound on his nose and we believed the blood is from there so My husby called his sister that is a nurse and she said we should give him vit c, ampicilline and brustan-n (ibuprofen oral suspension) and press him with hot water. Hv pressed him the hot water bt hv not given him the drugs yet coz I'm scared. Pls should i give him those drugs? Husby and MIL said no hospital coz its just a fall since the baby is fine.

Nwa teacher,I think your foundation of english is faulty here, otherwise you should have known that when the sex of a baby is not known it is referred to as 'it' before displaying your ignorance.

I'll give you the same advice my Grandmother gave to my mum. If you want to breast-feed your child at home, go to the bed and sit down at the center away from the edges, that way when you eventually fall asleep, you baby would simply fall into the bed.
My mum did this all the time and none of her kids fell.
Try and see a doctor too. It could be nothing, but just to be on a safe side.

Are you sure she is a registered nurse? because that is bull shit of the year. Don't give those drugs. Take your baby to a reputable hospital. Better safe than sorry.

You and your husby are stubborn. Why come here for advice when you guys believe you know what to do?
You still need to see a doctor. Hospital is not just for emergency cases

Maam please, please take your child to the hospital immediately, Your Husby and MI are neither doctors nor do they have X-ray eyes, Your child could not go to the hospital becomes he depends on you to take care of them. Ask yourself, if you had a very bad fall and bleeding will you go to the hospital... This child depends on you and you alone and you are failing him by listening to very bad advice.

TAKE THE CHILD TO THE HOSPITAL PLEASE!!!!

Truly, I must confess that the breed of mothers we have nowadays are a rare breed indeed. In those days, a child dare not fall from anywhere else the husband sends her packing. It used to be a mark of incompetence. However, what I find more appalling is the fact that she doesn't know to seek medical assistance IMMEDIATELY. Sad.

Are u sure about this?
I know of a 8 day old baby boy who was given paracetamol on the day of circumcision to ease his pains.
Pcm is not really a taboo for babies, it's just better as a last resort. I usually just breastfeed my boys after circumcision and immunization, no need for medication, really.

@op, I believe you took that boy to the hospital for professional help. Next time, just prop the baby with pillows to prevent this kinda thing. Sometimes, we get carried away and don't get to tuck our babies in the cot. Even if you are not feeling sleepy, put pillows around the baby and if you are the type that gets restless in your sleep, put something soft between you and the baby. Everybody can't aford a baby cot.

u must feel like a doctor nw?

@Op my love for kids will nt permit me to talk softly to you. You are a very careless woman. You fall frm yor bed unto d tiles and tell us if u feel any pains now or after.
Instead of taking your baby to an 'emergency unit' u have the balls to come online and ask us stupid questions.
How old are u? Don't u knw its a taboo traditionally for a baby to fall.
Well nw that I have vented my anger, pls kindly take that baby to a hospital. There are cases of internal bleedings.

Pls I knw there is no money...but u go fine that money oh.

Pls act fast.
