PDP had been keeping vigil for APC to get it wrong with their choice of VP. God saved APC. You could see that in the tone of the press release by Olisah Metu. He didn't even address the suitability of Prof Osinbajo cos they hav been praying that it ll be zoned to South-south(amaechi or Osho baba) or south west ticket would have been given to Fasola(muslim) that would have given them avenue to convince the people of the south west. Rather he was talking Tinubu being a funder and founder of APC.
The truth is south south governors cannot guarantee 10million votes from their region, only Lagos alone will deliver close to 6million.
The south west is the second highest voting region in the federation. One can concede SE and SS to GEJ and still win the presidency.

Op, what is the percentage of yorubas in the total population of Lagos?
Not morethan 30%. So why and how do you think that Lagos will vote APC in the presidential election?

The Igbos alone has not less than 52% of the total population of Lagos state.

This is just the best political calculation. Maybe we should ask pdp why they are so interested in the v.p post. Or they could ave ask a.p.c if they (pdp) could nominate someone intead of shouting on media. Oshibanjo who happen to be a prof and a snr pastor of rccg. The church that has the highest member in nigeria tend to pull vote among christian that are still in doubt. And pls dont compare oshibanjo wit bakare. Bakare church is only knw in lagos unlike rccg that is knw through out nigeria

Funny little boy.
52 % ko, 20 % ni.
There are igbo immigrants in lagos who have almost self-colonised and assimilated and there are villagers who will never belong.
I am an hardcore odua states patriot and I can assure you there are igbo in yorubaland who will be welcomed into the family in a few generation like we did to the saros,Brazilian ( e.g deinde Fernández)returned, Urhobos, Ijaws.
You see, these special of migrants share our values and ourculture. Many already have a yoruba first name and many do not even know where they come from.
But a villager, not so much.

The last time I checked it, it was 93%. Why are you underestimating the Igbo voting population in Lagos?

If APC wins 55% of SW votes, Buhari will be sworn in next year.

It doesnt end in SW, at least 50% must be guaranteed from North central also. Dont forget GEJ won 62% of North central votes the last time.

The battle ground is SW + NC.

What happened to Demdem??

@post: Honestly, with the rate at which the PDP is going, I don't see the party holding their ranks together till Val's day 2015. I see a lot of folks already booking their flights out of the country before the emergence of the anticorruption Czar!!

All their propaganda seem to have fallen flat and they appear to have run out of lies to tell. I bet the "religious bigot/islamic fundamentalist" craft isn't selling anymore, hence their committal to much more mundane stuff like the duration of time it took for the VP to be selected, pieces of papers left at the Teslim Balogun Stadium sfter the primary, etc. cheesy

PDP is a dying party whose redemption is totally impossible!!!

Please let's stop this tribal shit. It has never helped us and will never help.

@Topic, PDP know that they cannot win a free and fair election in Nigeria at present. The pendulum will swing in favour of Buhari/Osinbajo. More than three-quarters of the North will vote for Buhari while at least half of the yorubas will vote too and Jonathan will be left with the remnant to feed on and he will be sent back to Otuoke in 2015.

One thing I like with APC is that they calculate their moves well. Osinbajo may not be well known now but his profile will rise as the election draws near.

Please let's turn out en masse and vote out this clueless administration. Let's send GEJ back to Otuoke with our votes.

Vote Buhari/Osinbajo for 2015
Vote CHANGE.

I don't think the battle is still in the SW. Jonathan will steal some votes but Buhari will win it. The goodwill he had then is no longer there. An average SW even from members of his party knows that he has failed.
NC it is.

Yes, with a Lagos SW running mate, the battle ground now moves to the 6 North central states & Abuja. I am so cock sure at least 50% win seals the overall victory.

The igbos form more than 52%. They're about 65% while the remaining 250 tribes in naija plus foreigners and other Africans form the remaining 35%. The yoruba people that we see all over lagos are not more than 5% of lagos population.

Yeye boy. Na only 52% u see? U go soon see 92%. Continue d dream.

Do you know that 70% of igbo's in lagos were born in the city and 99% of them cannot read or write the igbo language. The other language they understand is yoruba because that is only local language being taught in school.
They have all been colonized by the yoruba's, that's why they are struggling to be relevant in the scheme of things, but deep inside of them, they know they are slaves to the yoruba's.

You are a moronn, but you made a valid point.
Most of the igbo people in lagos have been yorubalized.
Smh for igbo people.

If that is true, then an Igbo governor ought to have been produced in Lagos State since 1999. You seem to be saying that 5 out of every 10 Lagosians are Ibo abi? This your data na was o! BTW, how many of those Ibo guys in Lagos has their PVC? These are guys who usually turn every available space to football pitch on every election day. 52% ko, 82% ni. Fake data.

Who was Buhari's VP choice in 2011, and where is he from
Why would it make a difference today?
The region and religion have been the same, because Buhari has no other formula for success!

l agree with your post but the real battle is in the middle belt. seeing as the fulani are constantly having fights with the people of these region, campaigns has to be intensified there.
you cant write off kogi, nassarawa, plateu and benue. But APC just dont seem to factor the region in their calculations. The north and southwest vote may not be enough.
