After the hustle and bustle of the festive period, it comes to a time for us to make our new year resolutions, set goals, raise the bar higher and expect more from ourselves as the cycle of life begins. In this piece, i share a few point of my meditation.

1. PRAY: Prayer is the master key to all 'doors', you cannot know what is on the other side of a door without first opening it. In 2015, pray as the year begins, pray everyday, put God first in everything you do and he would surely add other things to you.

2. SAVE: At times saving seem like a luxury to some because of the nature of the economy presently. But you dont need to have millions before you save. No matter how small the money may seem save it anyway. Little drops of water they say make an ocean, you will be surprised how much you get from saving.

3. SPEND LESS THAN YOU EARN: Human want is insatiable, everyday we will see things we want but ony few is needed. You must not 'break the bank' to impress others, avoid show off sometimes we make life too complicated for ourselves because of this. Try to be disciplined to spend below your earnings, it will help you live better and save more.

4. AVOID DEBT: Debt is like a basket, the more water you pour into it the less you see in it. When you owe too much and unnecessary debt, it saps the joy of labour from you as the money you earn would be spent off setting debt. Avoid unnecessary debt and enjoy the fruits of your labour.

5. START SOMETHING: Hmmm.... Yes, start something new because everyday is a new opportunity. You may be waiting for admission or employment or whatever, dont waste all that time staying idle, start something ne and good too, it could be learning how to operate a computer or furniture making or even poultry farming, remember time and tide waits for no one.

6.MANAGE STRESS: Often i hear a lot of persons say " i hate stress, i dont want stress", but truth is stress is and have been part of our daily life since Adam's days. Manage stress dont avoid it, Relax and take a break when you fell stressed, meditate and find your inner peace, it will do you real good.

7. GET ORGANIZED: In Economics, there is what is called Scale of Preference. It helps you manage the resources and maximise utility. This is the time to get organised and plan. Place ur priorities right, have an open mind, clear vision of your goals and it will surprise you how achievable your set goals are.

8. INVEST: Saving is good, Investing is better. As you save, invest in other things too that can make money for you. It could be education, agriculture, oil and gas etc. Invest your time on others, the search for greener pastures shouldnt stop you from spending time with family and friends.

9. GET HEALTHY: Health is wealth, staying healthy requires a lot of discipline. You have to control what you eat and drink. A balance diet should top your priority. A friend once said "if you dont spend your money on good food you would spend it on good drugs". Quite the sedantry life stlye and start regular exercise.

10. VOTE WISELY: 2015 is another opportunity for us to elect(select) our leaders, please vote wisely, do not let sentiments cloud your judgements, vote with the interest of a greater and better Nigeria at heart.
